• Grand Traverse Bay - Grand Traverse Bay, an extension of Lake Michigan, is separated from the main lake by the Leelanau Peninsula. Stretching approximately 32 miles in length, it varies from 7 to 10 miles in width and reaches depths of up to 620 feet. It is the second-largest bay of Lake Michigan, following Green Bay.

Named by 18th-century French voyageurs who made “la grande traverse,” or a long crossing, across its mouth, Grand Traverse Bay is renowned for its division into East and West arms by the Old Mission Peninsula.

During this tour, guests traveling from Traverse City to Hawthorne Vineyards will enjoy breathtaking views of the East Bay, with parts of the journey along the shoreline.
