- Sumela Monastery - The church is believed to have been constructed between 365-395 AD. The architectural style follows the Cappadocia churches, commonly found in Anatolia, and there is a similar cave church in the Maşatlık area of Trabzon. Little is known about the thousand-year span between the church’s initial foundation and its transformation into a monastery. According to a legend among the Black Sea Greeks, two monks, Barnabas and Sophronios from Athens, shared the same dream. In their dreams, they saw the location of Sumela, where the icon was placed, one of the three Panagia icons created by Saint Luke depicting Jesus as a child. Unaware of each other’s dreams, they traveled to Trabzon by sea, met there, shared their dreams, and believed that the first church could be established. However, the prominence of Emperor Alexios III of Trebizond in the monastery’s frescoes suggests he may be the true founder of the monastery.
- Ikicay Tea Factory - The visit begins at the tea factory, crucial to the regional economy as tea production is exclusive to the Black Sea region in Turkey. Visitors learn about the journey of tea leaves from gardens to cups and have the chance to sample various types of tea.
- Ali Baba Lokumcusu Trabzon - Next, the tour stops at a sales office where visitors can taste and purchase different varieties of Turkish delight, chocolate, coffee, and aromatic teas.
- Uzungol Observation Deck - Upon reaching Uzungöl, the first stop is the Observation Terrace, where visitors can capture photos while enjoying the scenic view of Uzungöl.
- Uzungol - After the Observation Terrace visit, there is approximately 2 hours of free time by the lake. During this period, visitors can explore Uzungöl or visit the Dursun Ali İnan Museum. After the free time, the return journey commences.
- Hapsiyas Kiremitli Kopru - On the return trip, there is a 10-minute photo stop at the Historical Tiled Bridge, constructed in 1935. Depending on the season and traffic conditions, arrival in Trabzon is expected between 18:00 and 19:00 in the evening.
