- St. Catharines - You are now driving through St. Catharines, the largest city in the Niagara Region. Known as the Garden City, it boasts over one thousand acres of parks and gardens.
- Hamilton - You are entering the city of Hamilton, Ontario. When safe, merge to the left or middle lane. Follow the sign for ‘Niagara’. You will curve left as you approach the Hamilton Bay Bridge, offering a bird’s eye view of the city.
- Fort Rouille - You are passing Exhibition Place on the driver’s side. This site was home to the earliest European structure in the area. In 1750, French explorers built a small fort here named Fort Rouille. Today, a monument marks the location of the old fort.
- Skylon Tower - Directions will be provided shortly. As you continue down McLeod, learn about another iconic Niagara Falls attraction, the Skylon Tower. Standing 570 feet or about 160 meters high, it offers a stunning view of Niagara. On clear days, Toronto and Buffalo, NY, are also visible.
- Marineland - Established in 1961, the park has evolved from using animals for entertainment to focusing on thrill rides. If anyone in the car is interested in spending a few hours at an amusement park, consider visiting. The power plant tour is also highly recommended.
- Clifton Hill - To experience the modern side of Niagara’s historic carnival atmosphere, move into the left lane to turn onto Clifton Hill. A quick orientation loop will guide you back to the parkway.
- Rainbow Bridge - Soon, you will pass under the Rainbow Bridge, which leads to Niagara Falls, USA. This structure was built after ice destroyed its predecessor, the Honeymoon Bridge, in 1938.
- Niagara-on-the-Lake - You are near what many consider the prettiest town in Ontario. This charming town of fewer than 20,000 people was the first capital of Upper Canada, as the region was known in 1792.
- Queenston Heights Park - The escarpment gives way to a gentle plain sloping towards Lake Ontario. Over the next 12 kilometers, you will descend from 176 meters above sea level at the Brock Monument to the shoreline at 75 meters. The lake, plain, and escarpment create an ideal micro-climate for growing grapes and various fruits.
- Floral Clock - This park features the world’s largest floral clock, showcasing the creativity of Canadians in this part of Ontario. The flower pattern on the clock’s face is redesigned and changed twice a year.
