Great tour. We went with... - Great tour. We went with two more people which made the experience easier, The driver/guide was friendly, helpful, and great at explaining what to expect. The Tolantongo cave, waterfall, and pools were amazing. Where else are you going to go through waterfalls into caves and tunnels? Great time

A very chill/relaxing getaway - The grutas were absolutely amazing! 🌊 Vanessa was fantastic at sharing information throughout the trip, and Miguel was an excellent driver. On the way there, we made a pit stop and found the most delicious tamales — highly recommend grabbing some! If you don’t have water shoes, you can get them here for just $35 pesos, along with a waterproof phone pouch (both super useful for the experience). The tour was on the longer side, but totally worth it. On the way back, we stopped at Pastes Kiko — 10/10, so good! The van was small but comfortable, with A/C, and never felt overcrowded. We arrived at the grutas around 10 a.m., spent about half the time in the river, and then from 1 to 4 p.m. enjoyed the pools (you could either go with the group or explore on your own). Overall, a super chill, well-organized trip with friendly people. Would definitely recommend! Bang for your buck.

Tolangtongo tour was happier with you guys - Luis arrived at the pick-up location before us and waited for us. He kindly explained everything to us throughout the tour. (We are Korean and don't speak Spanish. Luis made eye contact with us and explained everything in English for us.) He also made sure that we could go somewhere close to our accommodation when we returned.😊 The driver we went with was also kind! He held our hands so we wouldn't get hurt when we got off the bus :) There were 12 of us. On the way back from the trip at Tollangdonggo, he let us watch a movie with Coco. It wasn't boring :)

Nice people and good experience! - guide was on time, arrived 2 min late. chill drive w lots of speed bumps. self guided trip once you arrive and had 2 bathroom breaks during trip! guide and driver was super nice. thank goodness we went early because place started to get pack around noon. went on a rainy weekend so caves, river, and ziplining was closed. one thing to note, river and cave is very far. even if it wasn't raining, not sure how we would've gotten down there. probably through ziplinging but then it wasn't said how you would get back. bring your own towel!! (they do not have any to purchase) and good water shoes, no sandles.

Nice experience but lack of foresight - We saw beautiful landscapes and were able to enjoy the thermal waters as announced by the tour. However, we were not informed of any details before the day and we think it would be nice to say so in the tour description. Here are the points: imposed breakfast, provide protection for phones and then suitable shoes for water (we didn’t necessarily have money to buy them on site). These points prevent us from fully enjoying the 100% couple experience. We would have liked to go under the waterfall as a couple but without phone protection, it was impossible. A small note also about the guide, we had asked for an English translation, we did not have any except for polite formulas.

The tour name is deceiving - The guide and the driver were very nice and the van was clean and comfortable. If we had to make stops for bathroom breaks, snacks, or to buy water shoes, we were able to. We did the tour on a weekday so it wasn’t that crowded. My family of four could always find an empty pool just for ourselves. They were very relaxing and the views were beautiful. My biggest complaint is that the tour is called ‘Tolantongo Caves, Grottos and Waterfall Tour’ but there were no caves or waterfall. There was a grotto, but it was not the one I have seen in any pics or vids. I was later told that the waterfall was in a totally different area of the mountain, not within walking distance. So, I feel that the name of the tour is a bit deceiving.

Disappointed, disorganized, not a tour, just a bus trip. - Whilst the mountains are lovely, the tour started over an hour late, we almost left thinking they were not coming, even though the night before they asked us to come earlier than the previously advertised time. Travel time is very long, and when you arrive, you are shown where to get food and shown restrooms. Then you are left to your own devices; it wasn't really a tour—we could have figured that out for ourselves. We didn't see any natural caves or waterfalls; I think they exist, but we didn't see them, as it wasn't actually part of the tour. The day is 14 hours not 12, we missed out dinner reservations thinking we would be back at 5:30 pm as advertised but was 7:30 pm. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend it; it was 10 hours of driving for 4 hours at an overpopulated family resort. The bus was so hot (no working air-conditioning) and small; my knees were pushed up against the chair in front. I've ended up with a sore back and knees. P.S. Bring cash as they don't have an ATM or accept credit cards.
