10:30 a.m. Arrival at the Tiwanaku Museum, where visitors can admire the cultural remnants of the Tiwanaku Empire, which thrived from 1580 B.C. to 1180 A.D.
Following the museum visit, the tour proceeds to the archaeological site, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site. The itinerary includes: the Semi-subterranean Temple of Kalasasaya, the main ceremonial site; the Gateway of the Sun, a monument celebrating the Andean calendar with the creator God Pachacutec as the central figure, and the most famous monument of Tiwanaku; the Gateway of the Moon, a tribute to the Andean moon goddess Killa; the Ruins of the Akapana Pyramid, which some researchers and archaeologists believe was larger than the pyramids of Giza in Egypt; and the Bennett, Fraile, Ponce, and other monoliths.
After exploring the archaeological site, the tour continues with lunch in the town of Tiwanaku, followed by a return to La Paz.
