Empathize Communism - This is one of the best experiences that I didn't expected. You walked through the city, asking to the fellow pridnestrovians how was life before, and you get a full feeling for the people who are still "stuck" the past, but the future was never known by their own people trapped in a twisted reality.

A tour of Prednistrovie (Transnistria) - Very informative tour that was tailored to us. An experience that really opened my eyes to the history and life of those in Prednistrovie. If you want to understand more about life there, this is an excellent tour for you. You will meet real people, have conversations with those who have lived throughout the USSR to now and the hardships that people now face. You will also see some fascinating sites and monuments. This (non?) country is a must visit. Extremely friendly, super clean and a great opportunity to expand your knowledge. Please note, we felt extremely safe the entire time, we met lots of people who were very friendly. I learned so much about the USSR and people’s reminiscence of those “simpler times with order and security”.

Anton has been a great... - Anton has been a great and funny guy. He is very knowledgeable (and his English is very good). What I appreciated most is that he isn't didactic when explaining things and instead stimulates your thinking to help you understand the place. I also liked that the focus was mostly on the present and what it means to live in an unrecognised country, rather than just on its past.

Epic Day in an Alternate Reality - Epic Day in an Alternate Reality – Unforgettable Journey with Anton in Transnistria I travel quite a lot, but this day truly stood out as something extraordinary. I visited Transnistria with my son, and our guide Anton Dendemarchenko gave us an absolutely unforgettable experience. It felt like stepping into a different reality – fascinating, surreal, and deeply engaging. Anton is not only a knowledgeable and passionate guide, but also a talented artist who brings the stories of the region to life. Everything was perfectly organized. His friend Dima picked us up in the morning from Chișinău and drove us back in the evening, making the entire trip smooth and worry-free. Crossing the Transnistrian border took only about 5 minutes and was surprisingly easy – no questions asked, no delays. If I get the chance, I will definitely return to spend more time exploring with Anton. Highly recommended for anyone looking for something real, raw, and truly unique!

Discover Pridnestrovie!!! - Thanks to Anton, I had the chance to fully experience Pridnestrovie — from its restaurants and museums to historic Soviet-era and, of course, time with the locals. He’s charismatic and a fantastic guide. It was a pleasure to hear more about the history of this unique country that truly exists. I’m really grateful! See ya

One day in Pridnestrovie - Anton is the guy you want to have with you around Pridnestrovie, he's a local so he knows pretty much everything and beyond about the place, his English are very good so you'll have no language barrier at all, also he's funny and his attitude is very good for his work. In the end of the tour he gifted us with his little drawings postcards and magnets. He also arranged transport for us from and to Chisinau, what was very useful.

Great tour - Anton was great; very friendly, took us to places we could not have found on our own; did a good job with coordination. I hope he is able to come and visit me in London sometime!

Amazing experience - Contact Anton for an adventure through Pridnestrovia aka Transistria. The best word I can describe for it would be authentic. It's not a tour with a guide so much as a local showing you how life works in a country that isn't recognized by the international community and the perspective from him. You get some food, history, culture, and photos mixed in along with a stop in a local market if you want to purchase any old Soviet souvenirs. Area was super safe, but just feels different to drive past peacekeepers wearing different flags than the countries you might be from. I won't say I agree or disagree with all of Anton's perspectives or views but it was super interesting to hear an alternate viewpoint with evidence from the Eastern Bloc and try to really philosophize with how life is currently in the country as well as how the past might've impacted it or what the future may hold. It certainly helped me empathize with other cultures much more Much different than a tour with a few stops and a polished speech at each one. The first several hours was a whirlwind of driving to various photo spots and getting maybe a few sentences about each spot, but it's more of a journey where you feel like you're discovering a part of the USSR. Therefore I don't recommended if you have mobility issues or expecting the same pre-planned itenerary with polished speeches for each building and the old dead guys who might've played a part in it's heritage. Instead this experience is for an open minded individual or group of friends that wants to experience a different lifestyle and culture for a few hours and try to understand what other people might feel or why they think a certain way. In the end it was more like a movie or play where you are transfixed by a story of a people who just seek to survive and remain captivated by the telling.

Fabuleux - It was an extraordinary moment. We spent an excellent day with Anton through Bender and Tiraspol. He speaks English perfectly. He made us discover Tiraspol and Bender other than just being a visiting tourist. I highly recommend you to live this experience with him, you will not regret it.

Needs Tidying Up To Reflect Price Bracket - Anton is a nice person and is working hard to make a living from this, however, for the price he charges I would expect more professionalism, particularly as he is 10 years into the job and has already received similar feedback.... Arrangements are sketchy, even simple questions such as should I meet outside or inside the pick up place and what is / isn't included in the price. These are basic questions that are needed to plan properly for the day. Several people in the group took out too much or too little Pridnestrovie money, as they had no rough price guide to work with (example, slice of cake is 20, antiques are 10 - 300...lunch is / isn't included already...) You can't change it back or get more once done, so it is kinda important! The "I'm just a local guy" / go with the flow style is fine if you're charging $30 - $50 USD like a lot of tours of this nature, but for over $100 USD per person, you want to be assured there's some kind of quality control to the experience. For example, snacks and wine were handed to some members of the group, whereas others were ignored, coffee was initially bought in a supermarket before he switched to a cafe where it had to be bought again because he realised it was open after all, lunch was ordered at the USSR cafe with no mention of the "only" menu in advance - two of the group couldn't eat the meat stew and cooked chicken they were served. Rather than ask the cafe to prepare salads / vegetable soup or apologise / partial refund for not checking beforehand, he simply handed them candy bars and said it was "from their world", like they were refusing the meat to be privileged westerners or something. It must also have looked disrespectful and wasteful to the staff. Halfway through the trip he suddenly asked if the group wanted to split up?!? Everyone just looked dumbfounded. Did we really want to go to who knows where with a non English speaking taxi driver (the taxi drivers also kept changing with no explanation or adequate warning to get our bags out for good - again, just simple details you would expect to be told!)? If he felt there were too many people in the group, he shouldn't have asked us all to join to one group in the first place. On the positive side, there were places that definitely wouldn't have been found without Anton, which made the high price just about worthwhile. He mentioned the high transport / gas costs several times, but with 4 - 6 people in each car, all paying top dollar, it still can't be used as an excuse for the high end price tag. Yes, it went on from 9am until 7pm, but quantity is not always quality. My opinion is either keep to the "go with the flow, random day with a normal local person" vibe and charge $30 - 50pp, or have a little more of a schedule with transparent costs and more professionalism towards planning and communication (particularly as the goal is to do this full time and make connections / recommendations in other countries)
