Interesting and pleasant visit of Tirana! - Very satisfying experience! Albert, was our guide, empathetic person, prepared, friendly who spoke excellent Italian. We discovered so many historical and cultural aspects of the city that we would not have noticed on our own. Tirana city centre is lively and full of surprises, with an interesting mix of Ottoman, Communist and modern architecture. The tour was well organized, with right times and stops at the main points. After the walking tour of Tirana, Albert took us, by car to visit the Preza Fortress, an important historical site located in an elevated position that offers panoramic views of the surroundings, including the fields of Tirana. I recommend the tour to those who really want to know the city and its history. A big thank you to our guide Albert. ENRICO CASPOSSELA AND LAVINIA CILIBERTI

A good start for your stay - In the approximately 2 hours of this free English-language guided tour, many details of the country’s history were brought to light and an overview of the city’s highlights was provided. The sympathetic leader spoke quite quickly but was still easy to understand. The voluntary donation was not required in any way.

Albania History and Religion in just 2 hours! - I love a good walking tour! It's the first thing I like to do when arriving to town since it gets you oriented to the major history and then gives you ideas of stuff to see.. We packed so much into the tour. The Square, government buildings, sculpture, orthodox church and mosque - wow so cool, and lots of other little things we eyed up to go back and enjoy.. Rate this one an "A"!

The whole story in a few blocks - Wide avenues, fabulous museum, the river that crosses the city. Very nationalistic the guide. Beautifully stripped the cathedral, small, with modern stained glass

In February it is cold in Tirana - Simo arrived late in the afternoon in Tirana and the cold of winter entered the bones, The large square dedicated to his hero of the country looked at us with detached sadness. The deserted square, beaten by the cold wind, few people, the ghostly atmosphere of a non-place in the sense of Marc Augè. We looked at each other, wanting to run away. Then the next day we had to change our minds. The square with a couple of rays of sunshine had acquired color and joy, the history museum even if very far from the interactivity of our museums opened the doors of knowledge of the last decades of this nation, people established our status as tourists stopped us in the street to ask if we needed help, to tell us about their daily stories. Finally, the tour of Tirana was an immersion in the humanity of this tenacious people, who, in the end, despite a crisis and poverty affecting various sections of the population, have a pride and a desire for redemption that we never thought possible. Forget about walking around the city of stupid Western consumerism and prepare to fill your hearts with humanity.

The guide was almost an hour late... -
The guide was almost an hour late and that was after challenges tracking down the Viator Tour representative. Further the guide was young, inexperienced, limited in her knowledge of the history and culture of the city. She did however walks myself and the one other participant which made for a highly personalized tour over to a part which we would never have found on our own... and we enjoyed a coffee and fantastic view sitting by the lake and gazing at the mountain side... an Albanian-Zen moment...
