• Tirana - Begin the day with a convenient pickup from your accommodation in Tirana by a professional guide and driver. Travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle, enjoying the picturesque countryside as you head north towards Kruja, a journey of approximately 60-90 minutes, depending on traffic.
• Kruja Castle - Upon arrival, explore the renowned Kruja Castle, situated on a hill offering panoramic views of the Adriatic coast and surrounding valleys. The castle was the stronghold of Albania’s national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, during his resistance against the Ottoman Empire.
• Kruja Castle - Inside the castle, visit the Skanderbeg Museum, which honors Albania’s struggle for independence and provides insights into its medieval history (Entrance included, approximately 45 minutes). Audioguides are available in Spanish, French, and German if preferred over following the guide.
• Ethnographic Museum of Kruja - After visiting the museum, you may choose to visit the ethnographic museum independently. Housed in a traditional Ottoman-style residence, this museum offers a glimpse into Albanian life through its displays of household artifacts, clothing, and tools. It’s an intriguing way to understand the region’s cultural heritage and daily life in past centuries. Please discuss with your guide if you wish to visit and arrange the timing (ENTRY TICKET NOT INCLUDED).
• Kruja Bazaar - We believe that free time is essential in all our tours, allowing our customers to explore independently, enjoy a traditional Albanian lunch, stroll through the bazaar, or capture more photos of the landscape. You will have 90 minutes of free time in Kruja. Afterward, return to the van/bus for a 20-minute drive along a serpentine road to reach the top of Mount Kruja, where the Sari Salltik Shrine is located.
• Sari Salltik - Here, enjoy breathtaking views of western Albania and the Adriatic coast while learning about the Bektashi Order and sacred sites around Albania. Relax on the journey back to Tirana, reflecting on the day’s rich experiences and listening to further explanations about Albania and its rich history.
