• Tirana - Begin the day with a convenient pickup from your accommodation in Tirana by a professional guide and driver. Travel in a comfortable, air-conditioned vehicle, taking in the picturesque countryside as you head north to Kruja, a journey of approximately 60-90 minutes, depending on traffic.
• Kruja Castle - Upon arrival, explore the renowned Kruja Castle, situated on a hill offering breathtaking views of the Adriatic coast and surrounding valleys. This castle was the stronghold of Albania’s national hero, Gjergj Kastrioti Skanderbeg, during his resistance against the Ottoman Empire.
• Kruja Castle - Inside the castle, visit the Skanderbeg Museum, which honors Albania’s struggle for independence and provides insights into its medieval history (Entrance included, approximately 45 minutes). Audioguides are available in Spanish, French, and German if preferred over the guide.
• Ethnographic Museum of Kruja - After the museum visit, you may choose to explore the ethnographic museum. Housed in a traditional Ottoman-style residence, this museum offers a glimpse into Albanian life through displays of household items, clothing, and tools. It’s an intriguing way to understand the region’s cultural heritage and daily life in past centuries. Please discuss with your guide if you wish to visit and arrange the timing (ENTRY TICKET NOT INCLUDED).
• Kruja Bazaar - We believe that free time is essential in all our tours, allowing our guests to explore independently, enjoy a traditional Albanian lunch, wander through the bazaar, or capture more photos of the landscape. You will have 90 minutes of free time in Kruja. Afterward, return to the van/bus for a 20-minute drive along a winding road to the top of Mount Kruja, where the Sari Salltik Shrine is located.
• Sari Salltik - Here, enjoy stunning views of western Albania and the Adriatic coast while learning about the Bektashi Order and sacred sites around Albania. Relax on the return journey to Tirana, reflecting on the day’s rich experiences and listening to further explanations about Albania and its rich history.
