A must-visit for history buffs and curious travelers alike!”
Pyramid of Tirana - The Pyramid of Tirana, located on Bulevardi Dëshmorët e Kombit, is an iconic and somewhat controversial landmark in the city. Originally built in 1988 as a museum dedicated to Enver Hoxha, the former communist leader of Albania, the structure was designed by a team of architects, including Hoxha’s daughter and her husband. Its unique, pyramid-like shape makes it stand out in the urban landscape.
Over the years, the pyramid has undergone various transformations. After the fall of communism, it was repurposed for different uses, including a youth center and an exhibition space. However, it fell into disrepair and became a symbol of both nostalgia and neglect.
Liqeni Artificial i Tiranës - Liqeni i Tiranës, or the Artificial Lake of Tirana, is a picturesque body of water located in the Grand Park (Parku i Madh) of Tirana, Albania. Created in the 1950s, this artificial lake spans about 2.5 square kilometers and serves as a central recreational area for both locals and visitors.
Surrounded by lush greenery, the lake offers numerous walking and cycling paths, making it a popular spot for outdoor activities. You’ll find families picnicking, joggers, and people enjoying leisurely strolls along the waterfront. The area is also home to various cafes and restaurants where visitors can relax and enjoy scenic views.

Gjirokastra Bazaar - A vibrant, cobbled-street market with shops selling local crafts, antiques, and souvenirs. It’s an ideal place to stroll, enjoy the atmosphere, and shop for handmade products.
Gjirokastër Obelisk - Situated near the old town, this monument commemorates the city’s first Albanian-language school. It’s also a great spot for panoramic views of the city and surrounding landscape.
The Cold War Tunnel - A secret underground bunker built during the communist regime for government officials. A guided tour reveals its significance during the Cold War era and provides a fascinating look at Albania’s communist history.
Gjirokaster Mosque - One of the few remaining Ottoman-era mosques in the city, offering insights into the religious history and architecture of the region.
