Everything about the trip... - Everything around the trip went smoothly. The activities were very well planned and were very nice. But the highlight was food. It was awesome!!! Just for that reason alone I would recommend the cruise, but also the crew was extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating.

Great trip - Pick up in Hanoi was like clockwork- nice trip to Halong Bay with a stop for coffee etc along the way. Met by Vinnie who guided us through the whole process from waiting in Athena exclusive area to the boat Fabulous trip, really lovely room and the food was delicious. Vinnie looked after us really well and all the staff on board were amazing.

Cruise in Bai Tu Long Bay - We deliberately chose Bai Tu Long Bay as it offers the same as Halong Bay but is not as crowded. A very friendly, cheerful and attentive crew welcomed us (and another 22 passengers) on board. The luggage was left on land at the terminal and is taken on board and there to the rooms. After arriving, the crew introduced themselves over a small lunch. After that you could move into your rooms. We had a very large and nice room at the front of the bow with a balcony across the boat. Large and well maintained bathroom. Only air conditioning was missing in the bathroom, which was not very pleasant in high humidity. The afternoon began with a kayak tour to one of the islands in Bai Tu Long Bay, where you could still go swimming in the sea. Back on the ship, there was a happy hour on the upper deck. In addition, you could try your hand at preparing summer rolls. Afterwards we had a well-covered and good Vietnamese dinner. Those who felt like it could still try their hand at squid fishing. The next morning started at 6h with Taichi, followed by a light breakfast. At 7:15 we took the dinghy to a stalactite cave on one of the islands. The stay ended with a not so good brunch. The Pho tasted boring and it was available without corriander. After that, the ride was over, the crew made sure everyone was taken to their drivers or buses. Overall scenic an experience. A great crew and the size of the ship with only 26 passengers made the trip very pleasant. Due to the dense program, you can only partially recover. The food (included in the price, only drinks go extra) was good, the breakfast brunch was rather disappointing.

Cruise first, sightseeing second - First, our guide Morning and all the cruise staff were fabulous. From pickup to drop off the cruise was excellent. The boat was beautiful, our room so comfortable, and my god the food was delicious (and too much). It felt like they put a lot of work into making the cruise comfortable and it showed. Bai tu long was gorgeous, and after seeing the port I'm so glad we took this cruise rather than Ha Long Bay. I also enjoyed kayaking through the fishing village and cave excursion. But most of the time on our itinerary was for eating, and by the end I felt like the focus of this trip was a luxury cruise rather than sightseeing. Not bad, but maybe not quite what I was expecting.
