Paro - Upon arrival in Paro, meet our representative and enjoy lunch in Paro. After lunch, embark on your sightseeing tour by visiting the Rinpung Dzong, currently serving as an administrative center and school for monks. Later, depart for Thimphu, a city consisting of just three lines of shops and the only capital in the world without traffic lights. Check in at the hotel. In the evening, visit the Handicrafts Emporium, which offers a variety of Bhutanese handicrafts for sale. Overnight at the hotel.
Thimphu to Punakha (1310m)
Thimphu - Early in the morning, after breakfast, drive towards Punakha, crossing Dochula Pass (3140m) for about 1.5 hours. Dochula provides a stunning view of the eastern Himalayas in clear weather. On the way, take a short hike through beautiful rice fields to Chimmi Lhakhang, a temple dedicated to Drukpa Kuenly, also known as “the Divine Madman.” Later in the afternoon, visit the beautiful Punakha Dzong located at the confluence of the Pho-chu and Mo-chu rivers. In the evening, drive to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
Punakha to Paro (2250m)
Punakha - After an early breakfast, drive from Punakha to Paro, re-crossing Dochula Pass. Stop in Thimphu for lunch. Then continue driving to Paro and visit the Rinpung Dzong, which maintains its traditional role as the seat of the district administration, district court, and monastic body. Later, drive to the hotel in Paro. Overnight at the hotel.
Paro – Hike to Taktsang Monastery
Paro Taktsang - On the fourth day, visit the breathtaking Taktsang Monastery. Early in the morning, after breakfast, drive to the base camp of Taktsang and begin the hike up to the Taktsang Monastery, also known as the Tiger’s Nest. Visit Taktsang Monastery, which offers a mesmerizing view of Paro Valley. Afterwards, hike back to the road point and drive to Kyichu Lakhang, one of the oldest and most sacred shrines in Bhutan. Also, visit Rinpung Dzong, which continues its traditional role as the seat of the district administration, district court, and monastic body. Later, drive back to the hotel. Overnight at the hotel.
