When the Katoomba Colliery ceased operations in 1945, Harry saw an opportunity for innovation by converting the old coal skips and existing rail track into a passenger train, creating what remains the world’s steepest passenger train.

• Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park - Chapman Tours understands the fascination with Australian wildlife. After exploring the Blue Mountains, guests head to Featherdale Wildlife Park, home to the largest collection of Australian animals globally. At Featherdale, visitors can get up close to kangaroos and koalas. There’s nothing more thrilling than feeding a kangaroo or a koala up close. The entire area is flat and easy to navigate. Upon arrival, the group is welcomed by a local wildlife park member who shares the park’s history. After a brief introduction, guests skip the line and enter the park. The wildlife park experience is sure to be delightful.

During the week between Christmas and early January, thousands visit the Blue Mountains. Recognizing that a small group tour isn’t for everyone, some prefer the comfort of a larger coach. Therefore, a large coach Blue Mountains tour is available on select days.

Travel in comfort on our large coach and enjoy the three rides at Scenic World, along with the stunning cliff faces, waterfalls, and views of the Blue Mountains. Lunch can be enjoyed at Scenic World (at your own expense). After lunch, meet the beloved animals, the Kangaroo and Koala. Our all-inclusive pricing means you pay one price for everything. This includes Scenic World, a tour guide, comfortable transport, and Wildlife Park entry.

The large coach operates only on the following dates during our peak Christmas New Year 2025/2026 period:
