• Thanlyin - Guests are greeted by the company’s Tour Guide at their hotel. The journey begins with a 45-minute drive across the Bago River from Yangon to Thanlyin (Syriam), a significant trading hub in the 17th Century under the Portuguese adventurer De Brito. Today, Thanlyin is renowned for its Deep Sea Port Projects in Thilawa. Visitors will explore the highlights of Thanlyin, including the ruins of old Portuguese churches in the town center and the remains of a Catholic church built by an Italian Barnabite missionary. The Kyaik-Khauk Pagoda, an impressive golden stupa similar to the Shwedagon, sits atop a hillock and boasts a history spanning over 2,000 years. In front of the pagoda are the tombs of Myanmar writers Natshinnaung and Padethayaza, who wrote about ordinary people during the Ava period and were captured by the Mon. The tour continues to Kyauk-Tan Pagoda, located on a small island in a tributary of Yangon’s river, with a stop at Bada-Gyi village to admire a 41-foot high, 100-year-old, massive Seated Buddha Image.
