A Day in the Mountains - Our tour to Doi Inthanon National Park was a highlight of our trip. We started with a beautiful waterfall, followed by a guided trek led by a local White Karen tribe guide. The hike took us through forest, past waterfalls and rice fields, and ended with the most delicious strawberries we’ve ever had. The trek is about two hours and not easy—you should be in moderately good shape, and it’s not recommended if you have knee issues. We then enjoyed a coffee tasting in the village before driving to the summit, the highest point in Thailand, and visiting the royal pagodas with stunning views. Our guide Kai was excellent—very knowledgeable about Thailand’s hill tribes, their migration, and the Thai royal family. Highly recommended.

Hands down the BEST tour in our Southeast Asia trip - best guides also! - We had the coolest walking guide in the Doi Inthanon nature reserve. His name was Beau / perfect English learned from YouTube classes. He lives in one of the villages within the reserve. We passed his beautiful wife as she is also a guide. Our tour guide that spent the entire day with us and was also the driver is named Teerayut Yut and he knows all about coffee. It was a fun conversation about how different coffees are grown, prepared and dried. The mountains around Chiang Mai grow Arabica beans which have less caffeine and a better taste than the Robusta coffee beans grown at lower elevations. You can see the coffee beans on the trees in a couple of photos. We had a delicious lunch after a 2-3 kilometer walk - it seemed further and Beau was great with lending a stable hand in addition to the walking sticks in areas that were a bit more rugged than my legs can take right now. Then we visited the pagodas built by the Thai military to honor the 9th Kimg of Thailand and his wife the Queen. Her pagoda was violet colored and had blue decorations because she was born on a Saturday. The flower gardens were behind the Queens pagoda. Then off again on another short trek where another King & Queen’s ashes were placed and a monument to them.

Great full day experience! - We had a wonderful time on this in depth tour. Our guide Ekky “Ed” was spectacular. He regaled us with great stories of Thai history on the drive to the park. We then saw beautiful waterfalls, hiked a lovely trail, had great coffee and more. We really appreciate how thoughtful he was in putting together the tour. Since it was a private tour we had some time alone at lunch and at some of the sites. He also knew where every quality bathroom was and came prepared to make sure we had everything we needed. This was a great way to see the countryside and would highly recommend to anyone looking for a great day outside Chiang Mai.

YOU NEED THIS TOUR!! - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Our private tour with Yut was nothing short of extraordinary and easily one of the highlights of our time in Thailand. We spent the day exploring Doi Inthanon, followed by an unforgettable trek with a local village guide, and finished with a fantastic lunch at a local market just outside of Chiang Mai. Yut was incredibly prepared for a long and active day, making sure we were comfortable the entire time. He thoughtfully provided snacks (delicious locally made rice cakes!) and both cold and room-temperature drinks, which made the 8-hour tour feel effortless. His knowledge was outstanding—not only about Chiang Mai and the mountain, but especially about Buddhism. What we loved most was that he focused less on religion itself and more on the way of thinking, which made the conversations deeply meaningful and engaging. Yut even surprised us with a stop at a stunning waterfall that we still can’t stop talking about. Later, a local guide took us through his village, which stretched for miles and felt incredibly authentic. The trek included multiple waterfalls, bamboo bridge crossings, rice paddies, and even fresh coffee in the village—an experience we’ll never forget. Overall, the entire day was absolutely breathtaking, perfectly paced, and so thoughtfully planned. We couldn’t have asked for a better guide and cannot wait to come back to experience more. If you’re considering a tour in Chiang Mai or Doi Inthanon, Yut is a must!

Great tour - Yut was exceptional! - We had an incredible day journeying around the Doi Inthanon National Park. Our guide, Yut, was friendly, knowledgeable and fun. He took time to explain the historical and cultural significance of all the locations we visited and wove in his own experience as a local in a very endearing and engaging way. The lunch was also one of the highlights of the tour, with a range of freshly prepared dishes waiting for you at the end of your 3km hike, accompanied by an incredible view overlooking the rice fields and mountain faces. I can honestly say I came away from the tour with much more knowledge on Thailand, and saw some incredible views with the Wachirathan Waterfall, jungle hike and viewpoint from the top of the mountain. Book this tour and ask for Yut, he was honestly an incredible guide. - Jordan, Jonny and Devan
