• Alaverdi St. George Cathedral - In the morning, the guide and driver will pick up guests from a hotel in Tbilisi and begin the journey to the Kakheti province.

The first destination is the Alaverdi Cathedral, located in the Alazani-River valley. The earliest structures here date back to the 6th century AD, while the current cathedral was built in the 11th century. The site is surrounded by a fortified wall and includes wine cellars, baths, a living area, and other buildings.

• Gremi Citadel and Church of the Archangels - The next stop is Gremi, the former capital of the once-thriving Kingdom of Kakheti. The city was destroyed by Shah Abass’s army in the 17th century, leaving only ruins. Visitors can explore the well-preserved Church of Archangels, the Royal Tower, and a museum showcasing artifacts found during archaeological digs and paintings of Georgian kings.
• Tsinandali Palace - The tour continues to Tsinandali and the house museum of the renowned Georgian poet and public figure, Alexandre Chavchavadze. He was the first nobleman to produce and bottle Georgian wine using European winemaking techniques. Guests can view a bottle of Saperavi wine from 1839 stored in the Tsinandali wine cellars, among 16,500 other bottles of various types. Enjoy a stroll through the Tsinandali residence gardens with a glass of wine produced by Tsinandali.
• Shuamta Monasteries - On the way, visit the Old and New Shuamta Monasteries. One of Georgia’s oldest basilicas, dating back to the 6th century, is located here.
• Gombori Pass - Return to Tbilisi via the Gombori Pass.
