Sican Museum - The Sicán National Museum, located in the town of Ferreñafe, 13 miles (20 km) north of Chiclayo, offers a guided exploration of its extensive collection of artifacts found in the tomb of a significant Sicán figure, excavated in the early 1990s at the Batan Grande sugar plantation. Visitors can learn about the Sicán people, who inhabited this region from around 750 to 1300 AD, following the Moche civilization, while admiring jewelry, weapons, armor, funeral masks, crowns, gold and silver objects, and other treasures from the tomb.
El Brujo - El Brujo, constructed by the Moche between 1 and 600 AD, features three huacas (temples) — Huaca Cao Viejo, Huaca Partida, and Huaca Prieta. Visitors can learn about the theory behind the site’s name, El Brujo (The Witch), and view the detailed drawings and carvings on the structures’ sides, as well as hear about the religious ceremonies that took place in the temples.
Complejo Arqueologico El Brujo - Museo Cao - This museum is dedicated to the Lady of Cao, a female mummy discovered in 2006. Excavated in a remarkably preserved state, the Lady of Cao is believed to have been an influential woman, possibly a ruler, as she was found surrounded by ornate jewelry and weapons. La Huaca del Sol - The Temple of the Moon (Huaca de la Luna), located just 3.5 miles (5 km) south of town, is a terraced temple built by the Moche using adobe brick.
