A Georgian masterclass to remember - Easily one of my best experiences in Georgia was the cooking masterclass with a local family, with Chinka facilitating it. Chinka with her fire and charm elevates an already great experience and you leave with a new friend in the city. It is a sign of something great if you come back from a trip and fondly remember the facilitator as much as the activity they managed. Huge thanks to the chef and teacher of the day as well, who was warm, inviting and patient in teaching.

Glad we signed up - Fun time preparing and eating Georgian dishes. Our guide was wonderful!! It was a great opportunity to ask questions about Georgia, as we sat around the dinner table. We asked LOTS of questions and our guide never tired in answering. Georgia is a loving and caring country.

Fantastic food experience in a local family - I got to cook kachapuri and kinkali (dumplings) and corn bread while my truly excellent host explained how to make it. Making the dumplings was really fun and I learned a lot of tips about how to make them extra juicy. And I also rolled up some walnut filled aubergines which tasted amazing. Tota was a really incredible guide and explained a lot about the traditions about the food. Although I suspect he was being flattering when he translated that the host said I was doing well at making the kachapuri! This was finished off with an excellent dinner served with lots of salads and bread and was a really lovely change from going to restaurants. We made a lot of toasts and Tota taught me a lot about the history of Georgia including answers to my many questions about the buildings and the language. I’ve done a lot of tours but to cook with someone in their home and eat dinner there felt really special.
