• Telavi - Begin the day with breakfast at the hotel, then meet the guide and driver to embark on a journey to Kakheti, the birthplace of wine. Kakheti offers a day rich with historical landmarks. The first stop, after traveling along one of Georgia’s most scenic routes, Gombori, is the charming town of Telavi. As the administrative hub of the Kakheti region, Telavi is also among Georgia’s oldest towns. Enjoy a brief stroll through the old town before visiting the residence of King Erekle II, which has been recently restored and transformed into a museum. Here, visitors can explore numismatic collections, late medieval armor, copper items from the 17th to 19th centuries, and armored weapons.
• Alaverdi - Explore the religious heart of Kakheti at the Alaverdi Monastery (11th century). This site includes the burial place of Father Joseph Alaverdeli (6th century) and features mural paintings from the 11th century. Alaverdi is also renowned for its vineyards and a longstanding tradition of producing various wine varieties.
• Ikalto Monastery Complex - In the Middle Ages, Ikalto was the largest educational center in Eastern Georgia. Today, it houses three churches and the ruins of the academy building.
• Gremi Citadel and Church of the Archangels - The final destination is the Gremi Monastery and historical complex. Once the capital of the Kakhetian kingdom in the 16th and 17th centuries, Gremi comprised three sections, but only the Archangels complex withstood the destructive invasions of Shah Abbas I.
