• Jinvali Water Reservoir - In severe weather, the route will traverse the Zhinvali reservoir.

• Ananuri Fortified Castle Ensemble - Ananuri fortress: a tale in stone. On the banks of the Aragvi, visitors will encounter the only Georgian fortress preserved in its original state. Exploring the Ananuri defense complex, one can imagine life in the Middle Ages and discover the rich history of the Aragva eristavi (leaders of the people). Special attention will be given to the 17th-century Assumption Church, adorned with intriguing bas-reliefs, each element of which holds a hidden meaning.

• Pasanauri - Witness the merging of the White and Black Aragvi rivers, enjoy stunning views, and visit a unique mineral spring that resembles a golden river. (Stop for 15 minutes) At the confluence of the Aragvi rivers and within the picturesque gorge, there are numerous restaurants offering Georgian khinkali and other traditional mountain dishes. (Restaurant and meal time: 80 minutes)

• Gudauri - Gudauri ski resort.

• Russian Georgian Friendship Monument - Friendship Arch, located on the mountain’s edge near Gudauri. This is the highest point of the pass and an ideal spot to embrace the mountains forever!

• Gergeti Trinity Church - Gergeti Church and Fortress. This iconic scene, often seen on postcards, features an ancient monastery perched on a hill against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains. To experience this in person, travel to the village of Stepantsminda at the base of Kazbek. From there, transfer to jeeps to ascend to the “monastery behind the clouds,” celebrated in Pushkin’s poetry. Additional expenses: jeep to the temple in Gergeti (20 GEL per person).
