Ananuri Fortified Castle Ensemble - Ananuri fortress: a tale in stone
On the banks of the Aragvi, you will encounter the only Georgian fortress that has survived in its original state. As you explore the Ananuri defense complex, you’ll feel transported to the Middle Ages and discover the illustrious history of the Aragva eristavi (leaders of the people). Special attention will be given to the 17th-century Assumption Church, adorned with intriguing bas-reliefs, each element of which holds a hidden significance. -
Pasanauri - Witness the merging of two rivers (White and Black Aragvi), stunning vistas, and a unique mineral spring resembling a golden river. (Stop for 15 minutes)
At the junction of the two Aragvi and within the picturesque gorge, there are numerous restaurants in scenic locations where you can savor Georgian khinkali and other traditional mountain dishes. (Dining and meal time 80 minutes) - Gudauri - Gudauri ski resort.
- Russian Georgian Friendship Monument - Friendship Arch. Situated on the mountain’s edge near Gudauri, this is the highest point of the pass and an ideal spot to embrace the mountains forever!

Gergeti Trinity Church - Gergeti Church and Fortress
You’ve likely seen postcards featuring an ancient monastery perched on a hill against a backdrop of snow-capped mountains. To witness these views in person, travel to the village of Stepantsminda at the base of Kazbek. There, you’ll switch to jeeps to ascend to the “monastery behind the clouds,” celebrated in Pushkin’s poetry.
Additional expenses: jeep to the temple in Gergeti (20 GEL per person); - Meidan Bazaar - Return to Tbilisi Maidan Square by 8 or 9 pm.

Kazbegi day trip - It was a great day trip in Caucasus. We had a perfect Driver, David, and a super Guide, Kate. We wouldn't try this without them, I guess. We went to the famous places, encountered incredible wievs of the mountain, had great flocal food at a nice Restaurant.

Unforgettable Caucasus Day Trip with an Excellent Guide and Thoughtful Experiences - We had a fantastic day trip in the Caucasus. Our guide, Kate, was excellent, attentive, knowledgeable about the history of the route, and full of interesting facts. Everything was thoughtfully planned with great stops along the way.
The experiences along the route, like the wine tasting and honey tasting, were lovely touches. They felt focused on giving us a genuine experience rather than pushing us to buy anything, which we really appreciated.
The highlight of the tour was the visit to Gergeti Trinity Church. It’s an absolute must-see, and doing it as part of this tour made it even better.
Our driver was equally impressive. The roads can be challenging, but he drove carefully and made us feel safe throughout the journey.
The only small note would be to lower the headlights at night, as we received several light signals from other drivers.
Overall, a great experience and highly recommended.

Not to be missed - Great tour, with Amazing locations (Kazbegi above all) and great plus of honey and, of course, wine tasting. The day was made great by the excellent and lovely guide Kate. The van was comfortable and well driven.
Suggestions for improvement: reduce the lunch break to give a few more minutes to Gaudari and get back a little earlier.
