- Kakhetian Traditional Winemaking - The Kakhetian Traditional Winemaking Factory is one of the largest producers of wine and spirits in Georgia and the Caucasus region. Founded in 2001, KTW combines traditional Georgian techniques with modern technology to produce wine, brandy, sparkling wine, and chacha. This blend of methods helps preserve the unique, traditional taste of Georgian wine while creating a distinctive style to share globally. Visitors will have the opportunity to tour the factory and sample five types of Georgian wine and a 10-year-old brandy. Tips: • Bring a bottle of water to cleanse your palate between tastings. • The factory can be chilly, so bring a jacket. • Chkhaveri – White Dry Wine. KTW’s signature wine, “Chkhaveri,” originated in 1880 in the village of Askana, where winemaker Antimoz Chkhaidze established a renowned wine cellar using unique local grapes to create this new wine variety.
- Bodbe Monastery of St. Nino - Located in the village of Bodbe in the Sighnaghi region, Kakheti, the monastery is adorned with flower beds, bushes, vineyards, and a healing spring. Its history is deeply intertwined with the adoption of Christianity. Legend has it that after Christianity was adopted, King Miriani dreamt of four stars flying over Georgia’s mountains, with one ray near Bodbe. Nino went there to place a cross, lived humbly in a tent, and was buried where she passed away. In the early 4th century, a monastery was built on the tent’s site. Nino’s grave is inside the monastery, beneath the altar, which is strictly prohibited from being photographed.
- Signagi - Signagi is a charming town in the Kakhetian region. Once a forgotten and dull place, it has been transformed into a vibrant tourist center with cobbled streets and cozy houses featuring bright red tile roofs, thanks to extensive restoration. The town’s architecture reflects southern Italian classicism, and it offers a variety of hotels and guest houses to suit all tastes and preferences. Known as “the town of love,” Signagi features a special wedding house where couples can marry at any time without prior documentation.
