Stalin Museum - The Stalin Museum, dedicated to the life of Joseph Stalin (born Ioseb Besarionis dze Jughashvili), is located in Gori, Georgia, where Stalin was born. The museum retains its Soviet-era characteristics and includes Stalin’s original house and railway carriage. If time permits while in Gori, visitors can explore the city, which has been inhabited since the early Bronze Age. According to medieval Georgian chronicles, Gori was founded by King David IV. The fortress of Gori (Goris-Tsikhe) was already in use by the 7th century, and archaeological evidence suggests an urban community existed during Classical Antiquity. During the 2008 Russo-Georgian War, Gori was subjected to aerial attacks by the Russian Air Force, affecting both military targets and residential areas, resulting in civilian casualties.

Svetitskhoveli Cathedral - Mtskheta, one of Georgia’s oldest cities, was founded by the ancient Meschian tribes in the 5th century. Due to its historical significance and numerous cultural monuments, it is recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site. Mtskheta served as the capital of the early Georgian Kingdom of Iberia from the 3rd century BC to the 5th century AD. It continued to be the coronation and burial site for most Georgian kings until the kingdom’s end in the 19th century. The Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, literally the Cathedral of the Living Pillar, is currently the second-largest church building in Georgia, after the Holy Trinity Cathedral. Known as the burial site of Christ’s mantle, Svetitskhoveli has long been one of the principal Georgian Orthodox churches and is among the most revered places of worship in the region. It was not only the site of the coronation of Georgian kings but also served as their burial place.
