Great private tour with Aziza - Aziza was responsive and receptive to tailoring this private tour according to my preferences including a stop at a very Soviet cafe for lunch. I thoroughly enjoyed the tour and getting to see the Soviet Modernist architecture buildings and the ornate Metro stations. She was very knowledgeable and gave great recommendations for activities to do outside the tour. She even helped me buy a ticket for a ballet performance and arrange tour guides for other cities I was visiting in Uzbekistan.

An amazing walking tour... - An amazing walking tour through Tashkent, exploring its striking modern Soviet architecture and urban layers. The experience was insightful and genuinely enjoyable. Aziza was outstanding — incredibly informative, fun to walk with, and very generous with both her knowledge and her time. She brought the city to life through stories, context, and thoughtful details. Highly recommended for anyone who wants to understand Tashkent beyond the surface.

Great private walking tour with Aziza - The meeting point was easy to find and Aziza arrived right on time. She was warm, organised, and clearly knowledgeable. She shaped the walk around what I wanted to see, focusing on hidden Soviet remnants and a ride on the Soviet-era metro. The context she added made a big difference, from station design and mosaics to small details I would have missed on my own. The route made sense, the pace was comfortable, and every question was answered plainly. She also added a couple of local stops that gave a fuller feel for the city without eating up time. Exactly what a private tour should be: smooth logistics, thoughtful tailoring, and real substance. I’d book Aziza again and recommend her to anyone curious about Tashkent, especially if 20th century history is your thing.

Educational and entertaining tour with Aziza. - Of course you have come to Uzbekistan to admire the treasures of the ancient Silk Road, and rightfully so. However, if you let this charming lady take you on a walking tour, you will see another side, at least in Tashkent. Aziza knows all about Russian Modernism, where to find it, and much more. I found her knowledge and presentation both educational and entertaining. She doesn’t get tired because she knows and loves her subject, so when your feet need a rest, just tell her. Highly recommended!

Flexible personalised walking tour - This walking tour is private and flexible. The guide conveniently picked our group of 6 up from our hotel. We requested Soviet architecture as the focus of our tour, and she was able to adjust this for us. We learned a lot about the recent history and local culture. We saw many Soviet sites during the late afternoon and evening, in a personal relaxed way. Would definitely not have covered this much by ourselves.

A very interesting tour... - A very interesting tour of an unexpected architecture. Our guide Azizeh showed us not only the wonderful mixture of Soviet and Uzbek buildings and subways but also tailored in sights along the way when she realized that it was our first evening in the city so that we could better appreciate Tashkent. She was full of knowledge and made our evening fun and had the best Plov recommendation!
