Erg Chigaga features a stunning series of golden desert dunes stretching 40 km and reaching heights of up to 300 meters. Here, the sunset can be admired amidst the dunes. Erg Chigaga, Camel Trekking
Erg Chigaga - The sunrise at Erg Chigaga is a must-see, with golden light beautifully illuminating the dunes. After breakfast, the day begins with a dromedary trek. Riding through the dunes on a dromedary is a delightful experience. After a few hours of trekking, a stand of Tamarind trees is reached. In the shade, guides prepare a traditional nomadic lunch of kebabs and fresh bread. The journey then continues back through the dunes towards camp, where a tranquil sunset and a delightful dinner and tea can be enjoyed.
Erg Chigaga, Mhamid, Draa Valley, Zagora
Zagora - Following breakfast at the camp, the route connects with the old Paris-Dakar Rally track leading to the Iriki oasis and then to Mhamid, where the highway begins. This marks the start of the Draa Valley. This river basin, stretching between Ouarzazate and M’Hamid, is home to millions of date palms, in season from September to December. By evening, Zagora is reached, where the night and dinner will be spent in a Riad.
