Taroudant is situated in the Souss valley and portrays an exceptional image of southern Morocco. The allure of its markets and its rich history make it a small treasure.
As soon as we get there, we visit the previous Pasha’s Palace, then continue exploring the Medina till we reach Assarag Square; a gathering spot for locals from surrounding villages and the town’s inhabitants.
Post-visit, we progress to Tiout; a mere 20-minute journey away. A gorgeous palm oasis extends across several settlements. At the top of the hill, the Tiout kasbah provides an awe-inspiring vista featuring a juxtaposition of lush and desolate land. The most enjoyable and beneficial way to tour the palm oasis is by renting a donkey, which also supports the locals and village economy. Lunch will be served on-site: a Berber menu featuring extraordinarily tasty, refined dishes. The return trip to Agadir is via a different route to switch up the scenery.
