Perfect Day in the Cameron Highlands with an Amazing Guide - We had a wonderful day!
Our driver (Mr. Shah) was excellent – he really listened to our wishes and adjusted the tour so that it suited us perfectly. Mr. Shah was also a fantastic guide: very friendly, approachable, and pleasant to be around. He even took us to a lovely spot for lunch.
The highlight of the day was definitely visiting the tea plantations – they were absolutely beautiful!

Cameron Highlands - Excellent tour. Joe was entertaining and informative throughout. Great views in the Highlands of the tea plantations and opportunity to pick strawberries. Nice view of the waterfall and interesting to go to the bee farm.

Well worth visiting - A great experience to see the beautiful Cameron Highlands. Our guide, Joe, showed us some stunning sights. Well worth the trip out from the busy city.

Scenic tea plantation. - Our driver/guide was great. However, would recommend avoiding the weekend as the road was congested with weekend shoppers which meant that we waited in traffic for several hours only to move a few kilometres. The tea plantation was very scenic. That being said, don’t recommend for those sensitive to motion sickness as the roads were some of the most twisty/ windy I have ever seen.

Literary a trip... Nothing more - The best part of the trip were the conversations with Joe. Luckily he's an engaging driver and person.
Without his explanations you would just walk around.
Literary a trip, no tour, and all the sights were basically too commercial without anything that really draws you to come and enjoy.
If you want to attract tourists and make them spend some time and money, don't make these kind of things trips or sell them. Engage people, stop making it so commercial.

Lovely part of Malaysia but problematic tour experience - There were some issues with our tour which resulted in us missing a significant part of our itinerary.
The tour was booked via "Viator", who were provided with the name of our accommodation and the full street address in Kuala Lumpur.
On the day of the pickup, we arrived early at the front of our accommodation and decided to call the number provided when they were late. Thaya didn't take long to arrive after that but said he didn't have the address of our accommodation.
Whether the fault lay with Viator or the tour company, we can't say, but thankfully we only set off half an hour late which was not an issue.
Nonetheless, the tour commenced and we had a long and very pleasant drive to the Cameron Highlands.
Our first stop was at a supermarket and food stall stop by the highway. We had half an hour to spend there. I wasn't sure why we needed so long, but thought it may have to be to provide him with adequate rest times as the driver. Safety is important.
Continuing on with our journey, our driver told us he would reverse the order of the itinerary to make best use of the traffic conditions - which was fine and we appreciated him using his local knowledge.
On the way to our first stop, Thaya told us the price of admission, so I had to point out that that was already included in the tour. Thankfully, a short time later, Thaya told us he had had a phone message from his boss saying that there had been a mistake and admission fees were included, after all.
We were taken to some venues which were clearly family-run businesses but very run down. We were happy to support the local economy, but some of the venues were out of touch with animal standards, such as displaying a wallaby in a small cage, a duck in a small trench and peacocks in small cages. It was upsetting.
When leaving the Highlands, we passed through a smarter part of town with better venues which was lovely to see.
Whilst having lunch, my friends and I discussed that our tour was way behind schedule and that we would be finishing much later than stated on the tour.
We brought this up with Thaya, who confirmed we would not be returning for the stated finish time.
This was problematic for us, as we had a special occasion dinner booking that evening and told him so.
Thaya told me I should have discussed it with him at the start of the tour, but I told him I disagreed with the need to do this, as the tour had a comprehensive itinerary listed with a specified tour finish time.
We were not late because of traffic - he stated many times the traffic was very light and it was quiet in town.
At the time of the discussion and after asking him about the rest of the itinerary, I would estimate we would have arrived back at our accommodation around 9pm, 6 hours later than advertised.
Thaya was very keen to show us the rest of the tour.
This clearly came from a place of enthusiasm and pride, but ultimately I had to be more forceful than necessary to remind him that we already had plans and would have to cut short the tour.
Thaya told us that sometimes the tour finished around midnight, (9 hours after the advertised finish time). I explained to him that this could be problematic for some tourists - for example if they have a flight to catch after the tour - but he disagreed.
Only other tourists can decide if this is a problem or not, depending on their individual circumstances.
We cut the tour short, missing some of the itinerary my friends had been particularly keen to see.
Thaya did a magnificent job in getting us back to our hotel on such a long drive and we arrived back 4 hours hours after the advertised finish time.
We made it to dinner.
My friends loved Thaya and there's no doubt he is passionate about his job and works very hard. I found him to be friendly, courteous and informative.
Whether missing some of our tour was due to his time management, a norm in Malaysia or simply a one-off, I don't know, but I would certainly recommend having a discussion at the start of the tour around time management and the itinerary.
I did find messages on my phone later in the evening asking to confirm the pick up location, so I don't dispute that he had tried to contact us prior to pick up time. Unfortunately, we had had all had some problems using "Whats App" during our stay so I didn't get them in time.
It would be beneficial to other tourists to contact the company before the tour to confirm they have the address provided on the booking.
I have kept my review to facts and not opinions and criticism so other travellers can decide for yourselves.

Average tour - friendly driver but his time management was way out, causing us to miss major parts of the trip. - Friendly and knowledgeable driver, but poor time management on his part and average itinerary stops.
