Arusha Region - Upon arrival, most guests are picked up from Kilimanjaro International Airport and taken to a nearby hotel in Arusha, approximately a one-hour drive away. The following day, the adventure to the national park begins, as outlined in the itinerary from Day 1 to Day 8.
Arusha - Tarangire
Tarangire National Park - Departing from Arusha after breakfast involves a 2 to 2.5-hour drive. Tarangire is renowned for its diverse wildlife. A variety of animal species and birds can be observed in a single day. The park boasts a higher concentration of elephants per square kilometer than any other park in the Northern Tourist Circuit. The landscape is dominated by Acacia and Baobab trees, adding to its allure alongside its rich wildlife diversity. During the dry season, elephants are particularly captivating as they dig for water in the riverbed, using their forefeet to kick sand and their trunks to remove it until water flows, allowing them to drink. Dinner and overnight stay at Ang’ata tented camp (a glamping camp style).
Tarangire
Tarangire National Park - Another day in this wildlife haven begins early after breakfast, exploring the wildlife in the morning light of the African sunrise. Animals are most active in the cooler morning and evening temperatures. The afternoon heat, sometimes reaching 38°C (100.4°F), makes wildlife less active, conserving their energy. A second visit to the park increases the chances of witnessing more fascinating wildlife. Lunch is enjoyed in the park, followed by a game drive for a few hours. Tarangire Park spans 2,600 square kilometers and has the densest elephant population in the Northern tourist circuit. Dinner and overnight stay at Ang’ata tented camp (a glamping camp style).
Tarangire - Lake Manyara
Lake Manyara National Park - After a leisurely breakfast, depart for Lake Manyara Park with a packed lunch for a game drive. Lake Manyara Park is smaller than Tarangire, with a different habitat due to its groundwater forest, providing a suitable environment for beautiful birds like Ross Turaco and Hartlaub’s Turaco. Flamingoes and other bird species are abundant. Large troops of baboons are also common due to the park’s dense population. Lunch is enjoyed in the park, followed by a game drive for a few hours. Dinner and overnight stay at Ang’ata tented camp in Ngorongoro.
Crater Tour
Ngorongoro Crater - Begin the day with an early breakfast and packed lunch for a game drive in the Ngorongoro Crater, about an hour’s drive from the lodge. The area is renowned for its diverse flora and fauna and is one of the few places where the endangered Black Rhinoceros can be found. The green season (wet season) is ideal for spotting rhinoceroses due to the abundant pasture, making them easier to find than in the dry season. Lunch is enjoyed in the park, followed by a game drive for a few hours. Dinner and overnight stay at Ang’ata tented camp (a glamping camp style).
Serengeti National Park
Serengeti National Park - After a leisurely breakfast, depart with a packed lunch for Serengeti National Park. The drive across the Ngorongoro highlands (not the crater) to Serengeti takes 2 to 2.5 hours. Ndutu, where you will stay for two nights, lies between Serengeti and Ngorongoro Conservation. The vast migratory herds settle here from November to late March due to the rich pasture and habitat, a result of volcanic activity in Ngorongoro millions of years ago. The open plains are ideal for wildebeest and zebra. Lunch is enjoyed in the park, followed by a game drive for a few hours. Dinner and overnight stay at Ang’ata tented camp (a glamping camp style).
Serengeti National Park
Ndutu Lake - Start the day early with a packed breakfast, exploring the Southern Serengeti in the morning light to witness the great migration. This phenomenon often results in vast concentrations of wildlife. Predators are also active, seeking prey. Breakfast is enjoyed in the bush, followed by a game drive for a few hours. Lunch is at the camp, followed by a siesta until late afternoon when the sun cools. Another drive in the late afternoon offers evening wildlife sightings and sunset photography over the Serengeti. Dinner and overnight stay at Ang’ata tented camp (a glamping camp style).
Serengeti - Arusha
Arusha - After a leisurely breakfast, drive to Ndutu airstrip for a flight back to Arusha, a one-hour journey. Upon arrival, guests are picked up from Arusha airport and taken to the lodge for lunch, a day-use room, and later transferred to Kilimanjaro International Airport for their flight home.
