The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest inactive, intact, and unfilled volcanic caldera, featuring a vast floor of approximately 260 sq km and a depth exceeding 2000 feet. During the 5-hour game drive on the crater floor, expect to witness abundant wildlife activity. Keeping your camera ready is highly recommended. The area is teeming with African elephants, buffalo, black rhinos, hippos, hyenas, cheetahs, and lions. After enjoying a picnic lunch at the scenic Hippo Pool, begin the steep ascent to the crater’s top exit. This marks the final stretch of your safari, with a 4-hour drive back to Moshi.
