5 Days Exploring Lake Manyara, Serengeti, and Ngorongoro Crater
Lake Manyara National Park - Begin your safari journey at Lake Manyara National Park, where a scenic drive and a delightful packed lunch await.
This remarkable park is one of Tanzania’s most stunningly situated wildlife areas. It is renowned for its tree-climbing lions, elephants, and hippos, which can be observed at closer proximity than in many other locations. Lake Manyara is an alkaline lake that, at certain times of the year, hosts thousands of flamingos and a variety of other bird species. The lake and its surroundings are also home to herbivores such as hippos, impalas, elephants, wildebeests, buffalo, warthogs, and giraffes. After an exhilarating game drive, relax at the lodge with a delicious dinner and enjoy a restful overnight stay.
Transfer to Serengeti National Park for Game Drive
Migration at Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, embark on a journey to Central Serengeti National Park, traveling via Ngorongoro and enjoying a packed lunch along the way.
Serengeti National Park is home to a vast array of wildlife, including elephants, impalas, buffalo, crocodiles, and hippos. It is particularly famous for its great migrating herds of zebras, gazelles, wildebeests, as well as giraffes, hyenas, warthogs, and predators like leopards, cheetahs, and lions, all playing their part in the circle of life. You will also encounter various bird species such as secretary birds, Kori Bustard, red-billed hornbill, vultures, and superb starlings.
Pause for lunch at a picnic site before continuing the game drive, exploring other parts of Central Serengeti and witnessing the sunset over the plains.
After the game drive, proceed to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
Game Drive - Serengeti National Park
Migration at Serengeti National Park - Following breakfast, continue the game drive with a packed lunch. The areas visited will depend on the location of the migrating herds.
Predators typically follow the migrating animals closely, including lions, leopards (in the acacia trees), and cheetahs. During the short rainy season, the herds move from the northern hills to the southern plains (Ndutu Area) in search of fresh grass, pastures, and water, ready for the calving season. As the migration is entirely dependent on the annual rainfall, the herds’ location may vary each year. Your guide will know where to find the animals and the best viewing spots.
After an exciting game drive in the Serengeti, you will be transferred to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area for accommodation and the next phase of your safari adventure.
Game Drive Ngorongoro Crater
Ngorongoro Crater - Early morning, after breakfast at the lodge, descend into this magnificent crater for a full game drive with picnic lunch boxes.
The Ngorongoro Crater is a unique ecosystem, home to over 25,000 large mammals, including lions, elephants, buffaloes, and black rhinos. The crater is also a crucial habitat for several endangered species, such as the African wild dog and the eastern black and white colobus monkey. Predators, including hyenas, jackals, cheetahs, and the elusive leopard, which sometimes requires a trained eye to spot, are also present. The crater offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape, and you can enjoy a picnic lunch at one of the designated picnic areas within the crater. After completing the game drive, return to the lodges for dinner and an overnight stay.
Game Drive Tarangire / Transfer to Arusha
Tarangire National Park - After breakfast at the lodge, drive to Tarangire National Park with a packed lunch for a full game drive.
This park experiences significant migratory movement within the greater Tarangire Ecosystem. The park follows the Tarangire River and consists mainly of low-lying hills on the great valley floor. Its natural vegetation primarily includes Acacia woodland and giant African Baobab trees with extensive swamp areas. Tarangire National Park is renowned for its incredible wildlife diversity, with elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, lions, leopards, and cheetahs frequently spotted. Enjoy observing a large variety of colorful and unique bird species.
Over 500 different bird species inhabit the swamps. This park is also home to three rare animal species: the Greater Kudu, the fringed-eared Oryx, and Ashy starlings.
After enjoying your game drive, you will be transferred to Arusha town, where the unforgettable safari adventure concludes.
