Arrival in Tanzania – Transfer to Arusha.

Arusha Region - Your safari adventure begins as soon as you arrive at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). A friendly representative from our safari company will warmly welcome you and assist with your transfer to a luxurious hotel in Arusha. You’ll check in at the Arusha Grand Melia Hotel, a sanctuary of luxury and comfort. Settle into your room, unwind by the pool, and take in the breathtaking views of Mount Meru. Your guide will meet you for a pre-safari briefing, addressing any questions and outlining the exciting days ahead.

Arusha National Park – A Gentle Introduction.

Arusha National Park - Often overlooked, Arusha National Park is a hidden gem. It offers a completely different landscape from the other parks you’ll visit. Today’s game drive might include a unique walking safari or a canoeing safari on Lake Momella (optional, at an extra cost), accompanied by an armed ranger. You’ll encounter herds of buffalo, giraffes, zebras, and colobus monkeys in the montane forest, with the majestic backdrop of Mount Meru. In the evening, return to the familiar Arusha Grand Melia Hotel, enjoying the comfort of the Melia for a second night.

Arusha to Tarangire National Park–Land of Giants.

Tarangire National Park - After breakfast, you’ll journey to Tarangire National Park. The landscape transforms dramatically, characterized by ancient baobab trees dotting the savannah. Tarangire is renowned for its massive elephant herds and the Tarangire River, which serves as a lifeline during the dry season, attracting vast numbers of wildlife. Enjoy an afternoon game drive en route to your lodge. Tarangire is home to large herds of elephants, lions, leopards, tree-climbing pythons, and a huge variety of birds. In the evening, check in to the Tarangire Safari Lodge, perched on the rim of the Tarangire River valley, offering breathtaking views. Fall asleep to the sounds of the African bush from your comfortable room.

Full Day in Tarangire National Park – Deep Exploration.

Tarangire National Park - A full day dedicated to exploring the diverse ecosystems of Tarangire. With your expert guide, you’ll venture into less-crowded areas of the park. Search for predators on the hunt and witness the spectacle of hundreds of animals congregating around the river. The photographic opportunities, especially with the iconic baobabs, are unparalleled. In the evening, return to Tarangire Safari Lodge for another evening to enjoy the lodge’s amenities and relive the day’s sightings.

Tarangire to Ngorongoro Conservation Area

Ngorongoro Conservation Area - After a final morning game drive in Tarangire, you’ll journey towards the Ngorongoro Highlands. The drive is scenic, passing through Maasai villages and rolling landscapes. You’ll check in at your lodge, situated on a working coffee farm, offering a tranquil and beautiful setting. For dinner and overnight, you will check in to Ngorongoro Farm House, a unique and charming experience. You can stroll through the coffee plantations, learn about the farming process, and enjoy the cool, fresh highland air.

Ngorongoro Crater Tour – The Eighth Wonder.

Ngorongoro Crater - Today is a highlight. You’ll descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera. This natural amphitheater is teeming with an astonishing concentration of wildlife. It’s one of the best places in Africa to see the critically endangered black rhinoceros, alongside the “Big Five” (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhino). Enjoy a picnic lunch on the crater floor next to a hippo pool. In the evening, return from the crater floor to the peaceful Ngorongoro Farm House.

Ngorongoro to Serengeti National Park – The Eternal Plains.

Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, you drive towards the legendary Serengeti. En route, you’ll stop at the Olduvai Gorge, one of the most important paleoanthropological sites in the world, often called the ‘Cradle of Mankind’. A small museum details the fascinating discoveries made here. You then enter the Serengeti and experience the sheer vastness of the plains on your first afternoon game drive. After a long day of exploring, check in to the Serengeti Melia Lodge, a luxurious lodge designed to blend with the environment, offering superb comfort in the heart of the wild.

Full Day in Serengeti National Park – The Great Migration.

Serengeti National Park - This entire day is dedicated to the Serengeti. Your guide will tailor the game drives based on the time of year and the location of the famous Great Migration—a relentless movement of over a million wildebeest and zebra. Whether you witness a dramatic river crossing (seasonal) or simply explore the predator-rich plains, the Serengeti promises an unforgettable safari experience. You may also opt for an unforgettable hot-air balloon safari (at an extra cost) for a breathtaking aerial view. Accommodation will be the same as the previous one, the Serengeti Melia Lodge, unwind for your final night in the bush, under a canopy of brilliant stars.

Departure – Flight from Serengeti to Arusha

Serengeti National Park - Enjoy one last morning game drive in the Serengeti, soaking in the final moments of the wilderness. Afterwards, you will be transferred to the Seronera Airstrip for your scheduled domestic flight back to Arusha Airport (ARK). Upon arrival in Arusha, you will be assisted with a day room (if you have an evening flight) or transferred directly to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) for your international departure, filled with memories to last a lifetime.

Great time in Tanzania for our 2nd anniversary celebration. - Our second wedding anniversary deserved something truly special, and this 9-day luxury safari in Tanzania and HERBIVORE AFRICAN EXPEDITIONS team exceeded all our expectations. The entire trip was perfectly organized, allowing us to fully enjoy the beauty of nature together. From the wonderful safari lodge to the personalized service, every detail made us feel welcome and honored throughout the trip. Our safari began in Tarangire National Park, where we were treated to incredible wildlife and beautiful scenery everywhere we looked. Watching elephants walk across the golden plains at sunset was simply breathtaking. Our time in Serengeti National Park was equally unforgettable, as we witnessed the incredible wildlife activity there every day. Seeing lions, hyenas and giraffes in their natural habitat was a surreal and thrilling experience. The romantic arrangements made by the Herbivore team throughout the trip made our anniversary truly special. From the candlelit dinner to the personal surprises from the staff, everything exceeded our expectations. Our trip to the Ngorongoro Crater was the perfect ending to this beautiful adventure. We left Tanzania with unforgettable memories and gratitude for such an incredible experience together.

Our Unforgettable Tanzanian Safari Adventure - We are so grateful for our safari trip to Tanzania this past February - it was truly the experience of a lifetime! Although the weather wasn't ideal due to the heavy rains that fell almost daily, it didn't diminish the magic of witnessing these incredible landscapes and animals. Our journey began in Tarangire National Park, and even in the rain, it was spectacular. The park lived up to its reputation for having huge herds of elephants, and we saw dozens of them, their red-coated bodies glistening in the wet weather. The iconic baobab trees stood like ancient sentinels against the grey sky, and despite the overcast conditions, the birdlife was abundant and colorful. The rain seemed to bring a fresh, vibrant green to the landscape that made everything feel alive. From there, we traveled to the endless plains of the Serengeti. We came specifically to see the animals, and by that I mean the Wildebeest Migration. Seeing millions of these determined creatures stretching across the horizon is something no photograph can truly capture-it is truly one of the Wonders of the World. Even though we did get stuck in the mud at one point because of the relentless rain, it became part of the adventure. Our guide skillfully got us out, and that little mishap didn't spoil anything; if anything, it added to the story. We also witnessed dramatic predator-prey moments and saw lions lounging on granite outcrops, seemingly unfazed by the wet weather. The final jewel in our safari crown was the Ngorongoro Crater. Descending into this massive caldera felt like entering another world. The floor was lush and green from all the rain, and the concentration of wildlife was astonishing. Within a few hours, we spotted the Big Five including a massive tusker elephant and a black rhino grazing peacefully in the distance. The crater lake was filled with hippos and flamingos, creating a scene of perfect natural harmony. A huge thank you to Herbivore African Expeditions, the safari company that organized this unforgettable trip for me and my husband. Everything was arranged seamlessly, from our airport transfers to our comfortable accommodations in the midst of the wilderness. We would also like to extend our deepest gratitude to our safari guide, Clinton Cliff. His incredible knowledge of animal behavior, the ecosystems, and his ability to navigate the challenging wet roads made all the difference. He always found the best spots and knew exactly where to look for wildlife, ensuring we didn't miss a thing despite the weather. We promise we will return to Tanzania again one day perhaps in the dry season next time, but we will forever cherish this green, rainy, and absolutely breathtaking adventure.

9 days group safari experience in Tanzania with my best Buddy💖 - My best friend and I joined a 9 day luxury safari in Tanzania with HERBIVORE AFRICAN EXPEDITIONS. Simon, who organised everything wonderfully, is a credit to his contribution in planning a smooth and comfortable safari. We loved how every game drive felt like an unfolding treasure hunt, guided by Rashid he clearly understood and respected the land deeply. Tarangire greeted us with warm earth tones and roaming elephants, while Lake Manyara surprised us with its diversity-monkeys leaping through trees, vibrant birds skimming across the water, and buffalo grazing peacefully. The Serengeti, especially, felt limitless. Every direction we turned, the horizon stretched endlessly. Our lodge were havens of comfort, offering delicious meals and warm hospitality that created a feeling of home in the middle of the wild. The 9 day journey has instilled in us a deeper appreciation for wildlife and its rhythms, as well as a stronger connection with each other. It was an adventure that felt both luxurious and authentic in every way. We really enjoyed every single moment.
