Arusha City - Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park - The guide will collect guests from their hotel at approximately 7:30 am, with a packed lunch, to set off for Tarangire National Park, located about a two-hour drive from Arusha. The park is characterized by the Tarangire River and consists mainly of low-lying hills on the Great Rift Valley floor. Its natural vegetation is primarily Acacia woodland and giant African baobab trees, along with large swamp areas. During the dry season, the river and swamps attract a multitude of wildlife. Tarangire is renowned for having some of the largest elephant herds in Africa. The park is also home to three rare animal species – the Greater Kudu, the Fringed-eared Oryx, and a few Ashy Starlings. A game drive will be conducted until early evening, followed by a visit to a Maasai village for cultural experiences. Visitors will learn about Maasai life, including gender roles, food, ceremonies, and participate in singing and dancing. Later in the evening, guests will be driven to their hotel for dinner and an overnight stay.

Karatu to Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - After breakfast, guests will drive to Serengeti National Park with a packed lunch, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Upon arrival, they will enter the heart of wild Africa – the legendary Serengeti – known for its endless plains stretching as far as the eye can see. The journey continues towards the central Serengeti area, known as the Seronera, which is one of the park’s richest wildlife habitats. The Seronera River provides a vital water source, attracting a variety of wildlife. Guests will explore the area in search of wildlife and, as the sun sets, they will check into their accommodation.

Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater back to Karatu

Ngorongoro Crater - An early morning breakfast will be followed by a game drive starting at 7:00 am in the Serengeti, en route to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area with a packed lunch. After leaving the Serengeti, guests will enter the Ngorongoro Conservation Area and descend over 600 meters into the crater for a game drive. The crater, a renowned World Heritage Site, is supported by a year-round water supply that sustains a wide variety of animals, including herds of wildebeest, zebra, buffalo, eland, warthog, hippo, elephants, and the endangered black rhino. The park is also known for its dense population of predators, such as lions, hyenas, and jackals. Visitors will also see Lake Magadi, a large but shallow alkaline lake in the southwestern corner, which is a key feature of the crater. A large number of flamingos, hippos, and other water birds are often seen here. In the mid-evening, guests will leave the conservation area and check into their accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Lake Eyasi to Arusha Airport Transfer/Hotel drop off

Lake Eyasi - Today, guests will visit the Hadza, a hunter-gatherer tribe, in their native homeland around Lake Eyasi and the surrounding hills. The Hadza are a unique tribe facing extinction as their homeland is being converted into conservation areas and agricultural fields. With approximately 1,300 members, only about 300 – 400 still live a hunter-gatherer lifestyle. They are nomadic hunters and gatherers who speak a click-sound language similar to the Bushmen of Southern Africa. The Hadza do not have domesticated livestock, nor do they grow or store food; they survive by hunting and foraging for edible plants and honey. Individual autonomy is a hallmark of the Hadza people, where no one has authority over another, and they live completely free lives. They are known for their cannabis use, often beginning and ending the day with a shared joint. Guests will join them on a hunting session and later return to Hadza Camp to meet the entire community before driving back to Arusha. This marks the end of the tour.
