After enjoying breakfast, guests will be collected from their hotel in Moshi and transported to Londorossi Gate for registration. Following this, they will drive to the Shira Plateau to commence their trek across open moorland….

Hiking Time: 3–4 hours

Following this, they will drive to the Shira Plateau to commence their trek across open moorland. Travelers can relish expansive views and distinctive vegetation before arriving at Shira 1 Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
- Shira - Day 2: Shira 1 Camp – Shira 2 Camp
Elevation: 3,500 m → 3,850 m
Hiking Time: 4–5 hours
Today’s hike is gentle and picturesque across the Shira Plateau, providing breathtaking views of Mount Meru and the western side of Kilimanjaro. This day aids in acclimatization. Arrive at Shira 2 Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
- Lava Tower Camp - Day 3: Shira 2 Camp – Lava Tower – Barranco Camp
Elevation: 3,850 m → 4,630 m (Lava Tower) → 3,976 m
Hiking Time: 6–8 hours
This is a crucial acclimatization day. Hikers will ascend to Lava Tower, where lunch is served, then descend to Barranco Camp. This “climb high, sleep low” strategy assists the body in adjusting to altitude. Enjoy spectacular views of the Barranco Wall.
- Barranco Wall - Day 4: Barranco Camp – Karanga Camp
Elevation: 3,976 m → 4,035 m
Hiking Time: 4–5 hours
Begin the day by scaling the renowned Barranco Wall, a fun and rewarding scramble. The trail then continues through alpine desert terrain to Karanga Camp. Dinner and overnight at camp.
- Barafu Camp - Day 5: Karanga Camp – Barafu Camp
Elevation: 4,035 m → 4,673 m
Hiking Time: 3–4 hours
A short yet steep hike leads to Barafu Camp, the base camp for the summit attempt. After an early dinner, rest and prepare for the midnight climb to the summit.
- Uhuru Peak - Day 6: Barafu Camp – Uhuru Peak – Mweka Camp
Elevation: 4,673 m → 5,895 m → 3,100 m
Hiking Time: 10–14 hours
Around midnight, the final ascent to Uhuru Peak, the highest point in Africa, begins. Reach the summit in time for sunrise, then descend via Stella Point back to Barafu Camp for a brief rest before continuing down to Mweka Camp for dinner and an overnight stay.
- Mweka gate - Day 7: Mweka Camp – Mweka Gate – Moshi
Elevation: 3,100 m → 1,640 m
Hiking Time: 3–4 hours
Descend through lush rainforest to Mweka Gate. After signing out and receiving summit certificates, guests will be transferred back to their hotel in Moshi.
