Arusha - Upon arrival at Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO) or Arusha Airport (ARK), a Sandpiper Safaris representative will greet you. Following a brief introduction and orientation, you will be transported to your accommodations in Arusha for relaxation and an overnight stay, preparing for the next day’s adventure.

Arusha - Tarangire National Park

Tarangire National Park - After breakfast, embark on a drive directly to Tarangire National Park for a full-day game drive. Spanning 2,600 km², the park lies between the Maasai Steppe to the southeast and the lakes of the Great Rift Valley to the northwest. It is famous for its large elephant herds, iconic baobab and acacia trees, and the Tarangire River, the primary water source during the dry season. Over 500 migrating bird species can be observed here.

Tarangire National Park - Northern Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - Depart after breakfast from your accommodations in Karatu and journey to the northern Serengeti, passing through the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. This remote and pristine section of Serengeti National Park is near the Mara River, close to the Kenyan border. The area teems with wildlife, including lions, elephants, leopards, and cheetahs, offering a tranquil safari experience with fewer visitors and breathtaking landscapes.

Northern Serengeti National Park

Serengeti National Park - The Northern Serengeti is a secluded and untouched area celebrated for its stunning landscapes and the dramatic scenes of the Great Migration. From July to October, immense herds of wildebeest and zebras cross the Mara River, creating one of nature’s most thrilling spectacles. Northern - Central Serengeti National Park

Central Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater

Ngorongoro Conservation Area - After an early morning breakfast in the Central Serengeti, you will drive to the Ngorongoro Crater and descend into it. The Ngorongoro Crater is a stunning natural wonder and UNESCO World Heritage Site in northern Tanzania. Formed from a collapsed volcano, it hosts an incredible variety of wildlife including lions, elephants, rhinos, and flamingos, all thriving within its lush, enclosed ecosystem. Often referred to as “Africa’s Garden of Eden,” the crater offers some of the most scenic and rewarding safari experiences.

Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park - Enjoy breakfast at your accommodations in Karatu, then head to Lake Manyara National Park for a game drive. The park is renowned for its tree-climbing lions and diverse wildlife including elephants, giraffes, hippos, zebras, wildebeest, and baboons. It is also home to over 500 bird species, including eagles, kingfishers, and pelicans. The groundwater forest shelters blue monkeys and baboons. In the afternoon, you will depart for Arusha Airport or Kilimanjaro International Airport.
