Arusha-Tarangire

Tarangire National Park - Embark on a journey to Tarangire National Park, a 2 to 3-hour drive. This is the sixth-largest national park in Tanzania, named after the Tarangire River, the sole water source for the park’s wildlife. The park’s landscape is hilly, featuring nine distinct growth zones and diverse vegetation. Visitors will encounter a savannah adorned with impressive baobab and acacia trees, which almost overshadow the wildlife. The park is renowned for its significant elephant population, including some of the largest elephants globally.

Tarangire-Serengeti

Serengeti National Park - After breakfast and checking out from the lodge, the journey continues to Serengeti National Park via Ngorongoro’s hilly plateaus. Here, the red-clad Maasai reside in round huts, and their cattle graze alongside zebras, gnus, and giraffes on the savannah. A packed lunch is enjoyed along the way. Serengeti National Park, the largest in Tanzania, derives its name from the Maasai word “siringet,” meaning “the place where the land runs on forever.” The park spans 14,750 square kilometers (5,700 sq. mi) of grassland plains, savannas, riverine forests, and woodlands.

Serengeti National Park - Spend a full day on a game drive in Serengeti National Park, seeking the “Big Five”: lions, leopards, elephants, rhinos, and buffaloes. Enjoy the breathtaking wildlife of the Serengeti, including numerous Thompson’s gazelles, buffaloes, topi, Grant’s gazelles, eland antelopes, warthogs, eagles, ostriches, and more. Additionally, there is an opportunity to observe and smell hippos in the hippo pools. The park’s ecosystem is one of the oldest in the world, offering a humbling and awe-inspiring experience from the comfort of a land cruiser.

Serengeti-Ngorongoro

Ngorongoro Crater - After breakfast, drive to Ngorongoro, a two-hour journey to the Crater. The Ngorongoro Crater is the world’s largest caldera with intact walls, supporting 25,000 animals and 350 bird species, all with year-round access to water. Upon entering Ngorongoro, pass through a lush rainforest area before descending into the crater. After an exhilarating drive down, arrive at the 260 km2 crater floor, with the crater rim towering 600 meters above. Although at the crater’s bottom, the rim is 2,200 meters above sea level.

There is an abundance of wildlife to observe! The landscape is teeming with lions, gazelles, elephants, gnus, and zebras. With luck, spot the endangered black rhinoceros, nearly extinct in Africa due to poaching. Lunch is enjoyed amidst the stunning surroundings on the crater floor.

Karatu-Lake Eyasi

Ngorongoro Conservation Area - Depart early with a breakfast box to Lake Eyasi for an experience with the Bushmen and Datoga tribe, approximately a one-hour drive. Spend time observing their lifestyle, join them in hunting, and proceed to Datoga to see their traditional jewelry-making using local tools. Return to the camp for a hot lunch in Karatu town.

Arusha - After breakfast, depart for Arusha to return home, with shopping opportunities along the way.
