Morogoro - Covering an area of 70,624 square kilometers (27,268 square miles), the Morogoro Region is comparable in size to the entire nation of Ireland. Located in the Mid-Eastern part of mainland Tanzania, this region enjoys a tropical savannah climate with consistent rainfall, especially in the lowlands. The region is renowned for the majestic Uluguru Mountains, which reach an impressive height of 2,630 meters above sea level.
Mikumi - Upon arriving in Morogoro late in the morning, the day unfolds into a gentle rhythm. Your driver-guide will greet you at the SGR station and take you on a short, scenic drive to your hotel. As the town recedes, the expansive and tranquil Morogoro landscape emerges, almost the size of Ireland. To your left, the Udzungwa Mountains rise gracefully, their blue-green slopes adding serene beauty to the journey.
In the evening, you’ll visit the Mikumi Maasai Boma to immerse yourself in the daily life of the Maasai people. The Maasai are a semi-nomadic community in Tanzania and Kenya, celebrated for their vibrant attire, strong traditions, and deep connection to nature. Their lifestyle offers a meaningful insight into one of East Africa’s most iconic cultures.
At the Boma, you can participate in traditional dances, observe the famous jumping, learn fire-making, step inside a Maasai house, taste local foods, and explore handmade crafts. You are warmly invited to feel at home with the Maasai.

With a bit of luck, you may even spot a shy leopard slipping through the bushes or colorful birds soaring across the sky.
Around midday, you’ll pause for a simple picnic lunch in the heart of the wild, surrounded by the gentle rustle of the bush and the distant call of animals. After your break, the adventure continues as you delve deeper into the park, uncovering quiet corners and appreciating the beauty that unfolds with every turn.
As the light turns golden and the day winds down, you’ll return to your lodge or hotel, carrying with you the unforgettable magic of a well-spent safari day.
