Day 1
The adventure begins early in the morning from Dar es Salaam. A driver will collect you from your hotel or the airport if you arrive on a late-night flight. You will be transported to the SGR Train Station for your journey to the Morogoro region, which will take around 1 hour. Upon arrival, a driver guide will meet you and take you to Mikumi…

The adventure begins early in the morning from Dar es Salaam. A driver will collect you from your hotel or the airport if you arrive on a late-night flight. You will be transported to the SGR Train Station for your journey to the Morogoro region, which will take around 1 hour. Upon arrival, a driver guide will meet you and take you to Mikumi National Park, a drive of approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Enjoy a late morning game drive followed by an evening game drive. Afterward, the driver will return you to the train station in Morogoro for your train back to Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival, a driver will either take you to your hotel or drop you off at the airport if you have a flight. A picnic lunch will be provided during the day’s activities. The main highlight will be the game drives.

One day safari at Mikuni - The tour was perfectly organized from the begin to the end.
Travelling with the train and reaching the park was interting as much as the Safari!
During the Safari, Saloniki was kean to make us enjoy our tour but also to share his experience.

Super recommended - It was an exciting experience. The perfect organization, from transportation, to accommodation for the night, including meals. Always available and prompt in responses.
The guides, both of the car and walking safari, were very prepared and listening to them was very interesting.

Incredible experience - Kihindo Tours was truly the best, from booking to drop off. Winnie and team ensured we had all the information needed and organised the safari tour to run smoothly. We literally didnt have to lift a finger, we were taken from the hotel to train station and then train station to Mikumi for the safari. Saloniki was a great tour guide, cheerful and passionate! Was very knowledge about the animals, Mikumi and the surrounding national parks. Food was great, very fresh! Got to see giraffes, hippos, monkeys, elephants and lions! I would strongly recommend Kihindo if you want an unforgettable experience! Many thanks to the Kihindo team!!

Samkalina tours Mikumi - Half day game drive with Samkalina tours was excellent. Our guide/driver Patrick was knowledgeable, polite and professional. Vehicle was good and the whole experience was not rushed and memorable.

- A Wonderful Safari with Kihindo Tours and Safaris (K.T.S.)
On Wednesday, 16 July 2025, we had a memorable safari with Kihindo Tours and Safaris (K.T.S.) in Mikumi. It is by chance that we have chosen radomly K.T.S on a list that our hotel has communicated to us. First of all, many thanks to Winnie who has provided timely smart feedbacks to our multiple questions. Winnie is available and her responses are helpful to take a quick decision. Everything was well organized from 1. the mornining step to get the train to Morogoro, 2. connexion from Morogoro train station to Mikumi and 3. the Safari with our professional guide Danford. He knows his job, with an easy communication (English and Swahili), caring and attentive to every question. On ONE single day, we managed to see almost all the different wild animals, bravo to our SMART and famous guide Danford and a well organized trip ! I may add as well that the food was excellent and we had our lunch in an appropriate location/almost open space. Thanks to the team who was involved in the kitchen service.
Are you planning a Safari in Tanzania ? I strongly recommend Kihindo Tours and Safaris (K.T.S.), you will not regret your journey !

Worth every penny - We had a great experience. From start to finish everything went smoothly and as described, including our pick up and drop off which was really important to us because we’re not from here and did not know where we were going. The safari experience exceeded our expectations. Our tour guide Soloneke (not sure the spelling) made sure we had fun and worked really hard to find the animals we wanted to see. It’s not guaranteed that you’ll see all the animals because it’s nature but we saw lots of animals including lions and cubs. This experience is a great value and worth every penny.

Safari Mikumi - Organization at the top, everything was super well stalled and Winnie knew how to help us in every step a little complicated concerning the safari or even another part of the trip not under her responsibility. Safari in Mikumi exceptional with our guide Jackson and our driver KP super atmosphere, again thank you for a whole dream come true!!

Fabulous time was had!! - We booked this tour from Zanzibar, so flights were included. Our flight was delayed but they added time onto the end so we didn’t miss out at all. We saw some amazing animals and our guide (Aristides) was brilliant! He made our day! It was my friends 30th and we stopped at the end of the day and the staff (and us) all sung her happy birthday, definitely a treat to remember! Thanks again!!

Breathtaking beauty of nature and incredible guides - Despite having only one day, this safari exceeded all my expectations. The organization was flawless, with everything running perfectly on time. The natural beauty was absolutely breathtaking, and I was thrilled to spot 4 out of the "Big Five"—buffalo, elephants, lions, and even a leopard. Since rhinos don't inhabit this national park, I actually saw 100% of the possible big game animals here!
A huge thank you to my incredible guides, Saloniki and NP, who went above and beyond to make this experience truly unforgettable. They tailored the pace of the tour to match my ability to take in the overwhelming beauty around me. Saloniki shared his deep knowledge of wildlife with such passion—it was clear how much he loves his homeland. I couldn’t have asked for a better introduction to the magic of the African wilderness.
