Kilimanjaro National Park - After enjoying breakfast, guests will be picked up from their lodge in Arusha and transported to the Marangu gate. Once the necessary paperwork is completed, the trek begins, leading through the lush rainforest. Alongside the remarkable vegetation, there is an opportunity to spot some primates on the way to Mandara Hut. After a well-deserved rest, the guide can lead a visit to the Maundi Crater, offering a stunning view of the Kenyan interior.

Horombo Hut (3700m) to Kibo Hut (4700m)

The well-maintained trail passes the “Last Water point” and continues across the “saddle,” a nearly vegetation-free plateau connecting the main summit Kibo with Mawenzi. The destination is Kibo Hut, typically reached in about 5 – 6 hours. Here, an early evening meal is served, followed by an early night, as the night will be brief.
Distance covered: 9.5km / 5.9mi
Kibo Hut (4700m) to UHURU PEAK (5895m) & down to Horombo Hut (3700m)
Kilimanjaro National Park - Today marks “The Big Day” – the summit stage. The final ascent begins around midnight and is long and demanding. Passing the Hans Meyer Cave at 5220m, the climb steadily progresses upwards. At sunrise, Gillman’s Point (5681m) is reached – the crater rim of Kilimanjaro – where the sun begins to warm the land. The cold of the night is soon forgotten, and after an additional 1 – 2 hours of hiking, Uhuru Peak at 5895m is reached. Upon returning to Kibo Hut, a warm meal awaits, followed by a 1 – 2 hour rest before continuing back down to Horombo Hut.
Distance covered: 22km / 13.7mi
