Full-Day at the Serengeti
Serengeti National Park - Everything about the Serengeti is vast and awe-inspiring – it has been named one of the “Seven Natural Wonders of Africa”. The name Serengeti is derived from the Maasai word “siringet” meaning “endless plains”.
During the game drives across these “endless plains”, the operator will be amazed by the immense wildlife inhabiting this vast area – the highest concentration of big cats, especially lions, in Africa.
A lunch break and some downtime will be enjoyed before tracking more predators and smaller game, such as monkeys, baboons, wild dogs, and even honey badgers.
Above, an endless sky filled with over 500 bird species will provide entertainment. The park also features some forest and marsh areas where hippos and crocodiles can be spotted in the rivers.
Serengeti – Ngorongoro
Serengeti National Park - 3 Hour Drive
The early morning sun will illuminate the vast plains and the multitude of predators and grazers emerging from the night. This breathtaking scene will be savored before heading to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area.
Ngorongoro Conservation Area - On the way, a stop will be made at the remarkable Oldupai Gorge, a site rich with fossilized artifacts from early human development in the region.
Upon arrival at the rim of Ngorongoro – the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera – a descent into the crater will reveal a self-contained ecosystem bustling with over 25,000 animals.
The day will be spent exploring this vibrant wildlife haven, isolated from the rest of Africa. Lions, leopards, black rhinos, elephants, monkeys, antelope, and even pink flamingos inhabit this unique area.
As evening approaches, the journey will ascend the volcano’s wall, offering a stunning sunset view over the crater’s rim.
Ngorongoro – Arusha
Ngorongoro Conservation Area - 3 ½ Hour Drive
An early rise will allow for witnessing another marvel at the crater’s rim – a breathtaking sunrise.
Then, the return trip to Arusha begins. Rest stops and a lunch break will be enjoyed along the way.
The operator will be returned to their hotel, residence, or chosen location.
Having explored the best of Tanzania’s parks – Manyara or Tarangire, along with Serengeti and Ngorongoro – the operator has witnessed wildlife and landscapes that few have the privilege to experience. It is hoped that this enriching journey has been enjoyed and that Natural World Kenya Safaris will be considered for future safari adventures. Gratitude is extended for the time, trust, and adventurous spirit.

Serengeti National Park is perhaps the most famous wildlife reserve in the world, with its horizons filled with wildebeests and zebras. The lion population here is the largest of any park in the region, if not all of Africa. But for sheer density of big cats, nothing beats the Ngorongoro Crater, the largest intact volcanic caldera on the planet.
