Mikumi Park - The journey begins in the morning with a pick-up from your hotel or the airport in Dar es Salaam. Travel in a comfortable safari vehicle to Mikumi National Park, enjoying a scenic drive of about 6 hours through the Tanzanian countryside. Upon arrival, savor a delicious lunch, followed by an exciting game drive within the park. Mikumi hosts a diverse range of wildlife, including elephants, giraffes, zebras, wildebeests, buffaloes, antelopes, and occasionally lions. In the late afternoon, exit the park and proceed to your camp for dinner and an overnight stay, where you can unwind and enjoy the tranquil African evening.

Mikumi Park - After breakfast at the lodge, return to the park for a morning game drive, an ideal time to observe animals as they are most active during the cooler hours. Explore the expansive plains of Mikumi in search of wildlife and admire the stunning scenery of the African savannah. Around midday, pause for lunch, followed by another afternoon game drive continuing until approximately 4:00 PM. Later in the afternoon, visit a traditional Maasai village to learn about their unique culture, traditions, and daily life. This cultural experience provides a fascinating insight into one of Tanzania’s most renowned tribes. After the visit, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Morning Game Drive & Return to Dar es Salaam

Mikumi Park - After breakfast, head back into the park for a final morning game drive, offering one last chance to spot wildlife and capture memorable photos. Following the game drive, enjoy lunch, then begin the journey to Morogoro to board the SGR train departing at 4:30 PM for Dar es Salaam. Upon arrival in Dar es Salaam, you will be picked up from the train station and transferred to your hotel or the airport, concluding your unforgettable Mikumi safari adventure.

Mikumi National Park is situated along the northern boundary of Africa’s largest game reserve, the Selous Game Reserve, creating a distinctive ecosystem.
