Tanger Sightseeing – Chefchaouen.
Tangier - After breakfast at your hotel, meet your driver to begin exploring Tangier. This day is dedicated to discovering the rich culture of northern Morocco. The tour includes visits to Cape Spartel, the magnificent Sultan’s Palace, the Necropolis, the Hercules Caves, the Kasbah, the medina, and the souk. At the souk, enjoy some free time to wander the streets. After exploring the souk, savor lunch at a traditional Moroccan restaurant, sampling the finest Moroccan cuisine.
Chefchaouen - Post-lunch, continue the journey to Chefchaouen. Known locally as Chaouen, this destination is favored by tourists due to its proximity to Tangier and the Spanish enclave of Ceuta. The name refers to the mountain peaks above the town, resembling the horns (chaoua) of a goat. “Chef Chaouen” comes from the Berber word for horns, Ichawen. The town boasts around two hundred hotels catering to the influx of European tourists during summer. Chefchaouen is renowned for its blue-washed houses and buildings.
Chefchaouen Medina - Chefchaouen is also a popular shopping spot, offering unique local handicrafts like wool garments and woven blankets, unavailable elsewhere in Morocco. The region’s goat cheese is a tourist favorite. The growing tourism industry particularly attracts Spanish visitors, especially during major Catholic celebrations like Semana Santa and Christmas. Joe Orton and Kenneth Halliwell visited Chefchaouen in 1967, describing it as “very ‘Golden Bough-ish’” in the Orton Diaries. The town features several distinct mosques, including one at Place Uta Hammam in the medina and another dedicated to the patron saint of Northern Morocco’s Jebalah region, Moulay Abdeslam Ben Mchich Alami. His tomb and the surrounding village are about an hour’s drive from Chefchaouen on the old road to Larache. There is also a ruined mosque built by the Spanish.

Volubilis - Volubilis is an ancient Berber and Romanized city, once the capital of the kingdom of Mauretania, located in the Saiss plain of Morocco, near the Wadi Rhoumane river, close to the holy city of Moulay Idriss Zerhoun, where Idriss I, founder of the Idrissid dynasty, rests.
