Amazing family experience - We went on the camel riding and sandboarding experience with 4 adults and 4 children. The guide was brilliant, he was really experienced and knowledgeable and made us feel very safe. On the way to the dunes we stopped at a colourful village. He showed us around and took some really nice photos of us all in front of the coloured houses. When we reached the dunes, the camels were already there waiting for us to climb on. The camel handlers were also very friendly and took lots of photos and videos for us. The views were amazing especially as we approached the coastline. When we dismounted the camels our guide was there waiting for us again with the sand boards. He showed us all how to stand on the boards and got us going. We had expected the kids to just sit on the boards and ride them like sledges but we were surprised at how quickly they picked up standing on the board and riding the dunes thanks to his support. We had a good hour on the dunes then it was time to mount the camels again and ride back to the minibus. On the way back to the hotel we stopped at a banana plantation. The guide told us lots about how they grow which was very interesting and we even got to sample a few bananas which was a very welcome energy boost after all the sandboarding. All in all we would highly recommend this experience to everyone. We all had a fantastic time, especially the kids. They are still talking about how fun the sandboarding was and about the camel they named “Wobble Wonky”.
