This event allows us to see the cats leisurely, which is excellent. Will definitely do it again next year
Awesome experience! We were able to walk the tour path at our own pace. It seemed crowded before the tour started, but once people started on the trail, it spread out and we were able to see the big cats up pretty close. The caretakers had provided the cats along the tour path with enrichment items, so most of them were out where you could see them playing with pumpkins and enjoying their special popsicles. I will definitely sign up for this next year!
What a wonderful rescue and the 2017 Walkabout. I took a friend for her first time and we had a great experience. The timing of the enrichments for the cats were perfect. Most of them were very active and playful. This was my first time doing the free roaming and I loved it. I could watch them for hours if they would let me. It is a hidden gem in Tampa. If you have never been I highly recommend it. I brought family from out of state and local friends. Everybody has always enjoyed their visit.
I loved the open tour format. It provided much more opportunity to enjoy this wonderful sanctuary by not feeling rushed. The volunteers were all passionate about their contribution and very knowledgeable about the residents t h eyes care for. It was an amazing day!
Wonderful place, very educational. Excellent staff. Was a pleasure to visit.
I liked being able to walk around at my pace & not have to listen to facts I already knew from stalking your website for 2 years. Enjoyed seeing the scale of the enclosures, the plants & the cats (when they deigned to show themselves). People were all fantastic, too, and I got to meet Carole in person. And just by chance, it was her husband, Howey, who drove the shuttle to the parking lot. Sadly, I couldn't remember his name, so I called him Mr. Carole. He took it in good fun.
Everything about it was awesome.
Everyone there is so nice and knowledgeable, the cats are very happy and well cared for. It is a marvelous place to visit and the Wildcat Walkabout was a lot of fun. I really hope to go again next year.
My visit to the Wildcat Walkabout was phenomenal!!! Not only is the staff warm and friendly, but they go out of their way to make you feel like you are part of their very awesome world of the big cats that we all love so much!!!! My support of this sanctuary is so near and dear to my heart, and I am so glad I found them a year ago.....the work they do goes above anything I have ever seen as far as the love, care and attention they give to these animals that were rescued from horrendous conditions. Thank you BCR for all you do, we love and appreciate you!!!!
Although it seemed there were much fewer cats to see, and didn't hear much roaring from Cameron. All staff were helpful and informative. If I lived closer, I would definitely volunteer. Food trucks were good too!!
