Almaty - Charyn Canyon - Saty Village

Charyn Canyon National Park - Begin the day with an early breakfast at the hotel at 08:00, followed by departure.

Arrive at Charyn Canyon by 11:00. Often referred to as the Grand Canyon’s little brother, this canyon is believed to be the ancient ocean Tethys’ floor. The Charyn River’s erosion and natural elements have sculpted a breathtaking landscape. The canyon stretches approximately 150 km and reaches depths of up to 300 m in certain areas. Enjoy some free time.

At 13:00, enjoy an outdoor picnic lunch. Spend some free time hiking along the canyon’s rim.

Depart for Saty Village at 17:00, arriving by 18:00 for check-in at the guesthouse.

Kolsai Kolderi National Park

Lower Kolsai Lake - The Kolsai Lakes consist of three stunning lakes located in the eastern part of the picturesque Kungey Alatau gorge, situated at altitudes of 1800, 2250, and 2700 meters. These lakes are a top attraction in Kazakhstan. The two lower lakes are surrounded by fir trees, alpine meadows, and mountain pastures. After driving to the first lake and admiring its beauty, begin the 8 km walk to the second lake. Alternatively, enjoy a one-hour horse ride to Lake Kolsai 2. The deep blue water and serene environment are unique to Kolsai.

Start the day with breakfast at the guesthouse.

At 10:00, transfer to Kolsai Lake 1. The Kolsai Lakes are among Kazakhstan’s most beautiful locations, situated at elevations of 2250 and 2700 meters. They feature a unique mountain watershed with three natural zones and a remarkable variety of rare plants and animals. Enjoy a picnic lunch at 13:00. Hike from Kolsai Lake 1 to Kolsai Lake 2 and back.

Dinner is served at 18:00, followed by an overnight stay at the guesthouse.

Kaindy Lake – Karakol

Lake Kaindy - Nestled in a fir forest at 2000 meters above sea level in the Kungei Alatau mountain range, Lake Kaindy is named after the large birch forest encountered en route. “Kaindy” means birch in Kazakh. The lake was formed by a landslide triggered by a 1911 earthquake, creating a dam that flooded the gorge with mountain river water. The submerged spruce trees’ dried tops rise above the turquoise water, making it one of Kazakhstan’s most unique and mysterious sites.

Begin with breakfast at the guesthouse at 08:00, then transfer to Kaindy Lake (11 km off-road).

Arrive by 09:00. Formed in 1911 after a significant earthquake-induced landslide, the lake’s origin site remains visible, as it hasn’t been overgrown. The lake’s uniqueness lies in the natural dam that blocked the gorge, forming a lake without destroying the spruce trees that once grew along the river. Enjoy hiking around the lake and some free time.

Return to Saty for lunch at 12:00.

Depart for the border at 14:00, complete border crossing formalities, and meet your local Russian-speaking driver for a two-hour drive to Karakol.

Arrive in Karakol by 18:30, transfer to the hotel, and conclude the services.
