Fantastic, ethically operated and healthy animals. - Appears to be a highly ethical rescue park with massive open spaces and none of the touristy type activities of some parks. Animals all seem highly cared for; appear to have great relationship with rangers. “Lucky” the two year old elephant is hilarious - just a massive puppy. I highly recommend visiting.

We were lucky that it was... - We were lucky that it was just the two of us on this day, it felt like a private tour and we were able to dictate the pace (a faster one since we had to go back in time for work meetings). Todd picked us up from the hotel, on the way there he told us more about elephant sanctuaries but also life in Chiang Mai. When we got there, Ford was very welcoming and explained the whole day. Best part was he told us more about what an ethical sanctuary really means and this in fact is one of them because they don’t force elephants to go into the water for people to bath them, also they don’t overcrowd the day with tourists and visitors so that elephants don’t get too spoiled being fed too much sweet bananas which makes them walk less. Also their land is huge and they don’t overcrowd it since elephants graze constantly and eat a lot of greens. Highly recommend the half day tour, I don’t imagine doing a full day one I’d get bored. Pad Thai lunch was declined, we asked for vegetarian.

Wonderful up-close Ethical Elephant Experiemce - Everyone from the driver to the employees at the elephant sanctuary were kind and helpful. I sat in the front on drive out and got to have a fun Thai language lesson with the driver. The staff at the sanctuary were very knowledgeable about elephants. They were willing to answer any question the group had. We got to interact with the elephants but didn’t interfere with their behavior or actions. I learned so much and had an unforgettable experience. I highly recommend!

Gentlest Giants - We loved this tour! We were originally booked on a similar tour with a different provider(that forgot about our booking entirely) so we booked this one last minute. Our guide was very professional and we enjoyed having a small group. It was great to see the elephants and feed them, especially the baby elephant! Learning about the elephants in Chiang Mai was enjoyable and it was nice to have an ethical tour where there was no forcing of the elephants to be bathed and we mostly left them alone except for the feeding. I would recommend for my friends and family to take this tour.

Memorable encounter with elephants in a beautiful natural setting - Our guide, Ford, was very informative about the elephants and the sanctuary. The environment for the elephants is very relaxing. We were able to feed, pet, and observe the elephants natural behavior. The sanctuary treats the elephants with the respect that they deserve.

Elated by the elephants! - Ford, Todd and the Chiang Mai Elephant Care team are super passionate about elephants and are doing fantastic work to care for them daily. They should be proud of their work, this tour allowed me to engage with elephants and embrace their greatness. It was a once in a lifetime experience.

Superb Elephant Encounter - Tranquil, serene & lush location for small elephant family. Well cared for by proficient and protective group, with head carer so knowledgeable about elephant behaviour, habits plus daily regime which included great deal of eating, bathing & fun interaction. Baby Lucky is a delight, spoilt & mischievous, well cared & protected for by mother & aunt. Highly recommend this half day tour, learnt a great deal at the elephants pace. Highlight of my Chiang Mai trip!

Great up close and personal half day trip - Easy and timely pickup from hotel. Cloudy day and 90 min drive out. Quiet sanctuary with 4 elephants including a 2 year old toddler. We fed them a few times and learned about the health and routines. Bring an extra pair of shoes in case of rain. A little muddy! Our guide. Ford was knowledgeable and funny. Great pad Thai lunch included.

Wonderful experience ! - It was a really great experience. I highly recommend this Sanctuary, it’s truly ethical : no forced bathing and riding. You can easily approach, feed elephants because Elephant Care built trust with them. Tong and Ford are so nice, Kind and knowledgeable. We learn so much things about elephants, and the way they care and are passionnate about elephants is obvious. it’s impressive.

The Highlight of My Southeast Asia Trip - I was in Southeast Asia for 2.5 weeks, and this hands down made my entire trip. The staff was incredible, educated me on the elephants and their habitat from start to finish and It truly was a "sanctuary". Every moment with the elephants was around what the elephants wanted to do, and we were along for the ride. That's how It is supposed to be! If you are looking for an extremely ethical experience with elephants, this is the place. I left thinking these elephants were like big dogs. They just wanted to be cared for and loved, and I will never forget It. I also had the best pad thai and fruit EVER. You won't regret booking this one.
