Great boat and crew - I have fished in tamarindo before and we caught a lot fish, in that review I said it is easy to rate a company high when you have success like that. On this trip we did not catch anything, but it is just as easy to give a great review. The crew was awesome and tried everything to make something happen. There had been a lot of very windy days prior to our trip and the ocean was not clear and blue in the normal fishing spot, we tried other areas but. Still no luck. It is called fishing and not catching. A good review needs to be based off the service and effort of the crew and not just the amount of fish caught. I would highly recommend the rhino charger, it was a top notch boat and crew and I have been on a lot of fishing charters all over.

Excellent Experience - We booked a full day with Captain Maikel, Milton and Victor. The booking process was easy (I booked through chase preferred travel app). Meetup was very easy, and the crew was very punctual. We were greeted very kindly, and helped onto the boat. Maikel and his crew worked tirelessly for nearly 8.5 hours to find fish for us to catch. These guys worked their tail off, and we covered an insane amount of ground searching for fish. Sometimes, they just aren’t biting, but that’s what makes fishing, fishing; it’s not called catching! We were very lucky and got to see a few different humpback whales, and tons of Dolphins, which was very exciting! Even if the fish weren’t biting today, the crew kept their morale high, the food they served us was great, and the beers were cold! Next time I am in Tamarindo, I will be booking again with Maikel and his crew without hesitation. And there certainly will be a next time!

Epic Family Fishing Adventure 🎣✨ - Ours family had an absolutely unforgettable experience on The Rhino Charger! We booked a 3/4-day trip with Captain Maikel Rodriguez and his wonderful crew, Victor and Milton. They were all so knowledgeable and skilled at what they do. If it’s your first trip, you’re in great hands! The crew does the hard part, and once they get a fish on the line, they help you and show you the proper technique to reel it in. You just sit back and relax—until they jump down off the flybridge! That’s when you know it’s about to get exciting! They gave us a choice of what to fish for, and being our first time, we decided to go for the big, quality catches. We were thrilled to catch sailfish and mahi-mahi. Normally, when a fish is on the line, we’d take turns in the chair—but at one point, we had three sailfish on the lines at once. It was incredible! They prepared a delicious lunch for us. The chicken was so good! We also enjoyed the fresh pineapple, chips and salsa, and a cooler stocked with water, soda, and beer. We got to see several dolphins, a few turtles, and the most amazing thing happened when whales breached nearby. Captain Maikel cut the engines so we could watch and listen to them as they waved and passed us by. No words, it was magical ✨ Our son’s baseball coach, who has known Captain Maikel since he was a boy, highly recommended the Rhino Charger sport fishing trip , and we are so happy we took his advice. It truly was one of the best and most memorable experiences our family has ever shared together. Thank you all, so much! 🙏 We can’t wait to go back and do it again. I’m calling it now—I am first up in the chair when we do! 🙌 Pura vida! 🎣🐬☀️🇨🇷

Fantastic day on the ocean - We had a great trip. We caught two beautiful bill fish including a majestic blue marlin. The food was fantastic and the crew was friendly and energetic. Would highly recommend booking with this charter.

Honeymoon fishing trip - Amazing experience, the crew was at full attention the whole time. They wanted us to catch fish. The food and drinks they brought for our day were delicious. Fully catered to our wants and needs. We caught some very nice sailfish. Day I'll never forget. Thanks for the memories.

Sashimi, poke and Grill! Caught 5 fish! - Great roomy boat with a family of 5. Excellent crew. Very professional and very laid back. Worked really hard to find fish. We caught 5 tuna mackerels and they filleted them beautifully. Took it to a restaurant immediately off the boat and had sashimi, poke, and grilled fish. Amazing. We caught so much, we left 2 bags of fillets with the crew and gave another as a gift. If you like fishing, highly recommend

Awesome fishing day. - We had a great time! We decided to go for quality over quantity and all got to reel in a sailfish. We had amazing weather, despite it being rainy season. This was our families first deep sea fishing adventure and we can’t wait to do it again. The food was very good as well.

Fishing trip was amazing.... - Fishing trip was amazing. We caught a marlin, almost caught a mahi mahi, Bonita and yellowfin tuna. I only give this 4 stars because the crew helping us barely spoke English. They weren’t giving us any direction on how to reel in the fish. So we did end up losing quite a few. The captain spoke English but he drove the boat. When my husband reeled in the marlin they didn’t bring it on the boat for pictures. Lunch they served was a soggy sandwich with what looked like left over pork from last nights dinner. We did max out on yellowfin and they cleaned it right on the boat so we could have fresh sashimi!

Scam, no interest in helping you catch fish - This was a total scam. Paid for all day, got 3 chances to fish with proper gear & tackle. No snacks. Fruit was half rotten pineapple, that they cut with rusty knife off a cutting board they dug out from behind a cooler. Crew took first piece and refused to eat anymore. Fumes from engine flooded the whole cabin. Everyone was getting sick and headaches. Maybe worst part was crew flat just ignored us, wouldn’t talk to us. Captain Michael was known for always showing up late by the other captains. He over half hour late for our fishing trip. We hooked into nice fish 2 of the 3 times using right tackle. Then refused to set up tackle anymore and drove around for 2 1/2 until we couldn’t deal with exhaust and request to end trip.
