Arrival in Paradise

The moment my feet touched the warm tarmac of Costa Rica, I felt the familiar thrill of a new adventure. Tamarindo, with its sun-drenched beaches and vibrant surf culture, was calling my name. As a seasoned surfer, I’ve chased waves across Central America, but this trip promised something special. The Stellar 3 Day Surf Package was my ticket to a week of sun, surf, and soul.

Greivin, our friendly guide, greeted us at the airport with a smile that could rival the Costa Rican sun. His easy-going nature made the journey to our hotel feel like a breeze, setting the tone for what would be an unforgettable experience. The warmth of the people here is as inviting as the waves themselves.

Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the dynamic team of Paris, Oscar, Marcela, and Naty. Their efficiency and kindness made the check-in process seamless, allowing us to dive straight into the adventure that awaited. The anticipation of the surf lessons and the promise of endless board rentals had me buzzing with excitement.

Riding the Waves

The heart of my trip was undoubtedly the surf lessons. Each morning, I found myself at the Iguana Surf Camp, greeted by the enthusiastic team of Christian, Tasha, and Yoss. Their knowledge of the local breaks was invaluable, and they ensured I was equipped with the best gear to tackle the waves.

Luca, my surf instructor, was a revelation. His passion for the ocean was infectious, and his teaching style was the perfect blend of patience and expertise. Whether you’re a novice or a seasoned surfer like myself, Luca’s guidance elevates your skills and confidence. Each session left me with a deeper appreciation for the sport and a renewed sense of joy.

The surf trip to a nearby local break was a highlight. The waves were perfect, and the camaraderie among fellow surfers was palpable. It’s moments like these that remind me why I fell in love with surfing in the first place. The ocean has a way of bringing people together, creating bonds that transcend language and culture.

Capturing Memories

No trip is complete without capturing the memories, and Piki, the talented photographer, ensured that every moment was immortalized. His keen eye for detail and ability to capture the essence of the experience was remarkable. Thanks to him, I have a collection of stunning photos that transport me back to those sun-soaked days every time I look at them.

Dining at the local restaurant with Camila was another highlight. Her warm hospitality and the delicious local cuisine added a rich layer to the experience. Each meal was a celebration of Costa Rican flavors, and Camila’s stories of the region added depth to every bite.

Oscar’s friendly presence throughout our stay was the cherry on top. His willingness to assist with anything we needed made us feel like part of the Iguana Surf Camp family. It’s this sense of community and genuine care that makes Tamarindo a place I know I’ll return to time and time again.
