Highly recommend! - This was a great boat ride excursion! This boat ride offered everything you needed- leisure boat ride, time to swim and relax in the water, food and drinks on board, and an awesome view of the sunset. Would definitely recommend this group- it had less than 40 people on board and was the perfect group size. Some of the other companies pile people on board and I’m glad this was a smaller group

Highlight of our trip - We just sailed with Blue Dolphin for the third time and once again, it was magical. We've had most of the same crew members each time and they've remembered us year to year. The sunset catamaran cruise is our favorite activity each time we come to Costa Rica.

Excellent! - Excellent! We thoroughly enjoyed our catamaran tour with Blue Dolphin. The boat was beautiful, the crew was friendly and very attentive. The cruise along the coast was relaxing and a great way to be on the water and enjoy the views. I highly recommend Blue Dolphin!

Walk with coworkers - It was a spectacular experience. We were a group of coworkers and had a lot of fun. The staff was excellent and the weather favored us to watch dolphins, a whale and beautiful sunset.

Every day is a good day on the water... - Weather did not cooperate for water sports, but otherwise a nice day on the water. Crew was excellent, food was good/adequate, but the boat had seen better days (we've been on a number of catamaran tours, and this vessel was towards the bottom rung). It was a little snug, too.

Nice experience - We did this tour over Christmas, 2025. Our family of 4 (two adults, two teens) had a very relaxing time. We hung out on the net platform and we were quite comfortable. Juice, water, and alcohol were available and much appreciated. The ride was smooth (partly by sail, partly buy motor), and the music was entertaining. We didn't see any wildlife, but we had fun nonetheless. In the cove, all of the guests got in the water; the ones who couldn't swim grabbed life jackets. I will say that, safety-wise, you are kind of on your own if you get in the water (they work the boat, they aren't lifeguards), and, while I can't swear to it, I don't think a headcount was done. The meal was delicious and filling. The sunset was, of course, beautiful (yeah, it's the same sunset you see from the beach, but seeing it from the boat was a nice experience).

Good time and beautiful scenery - We booked this Costa Rica excursion with fresh memories of a very similar catamaran experience in Puerto Rico back in November, which gave us a great point of comparison. Right off the bat, there was one important detail missing from the Viator listing: instead of departing from a dock, you must take a small dinghy out to the catamaran. We were traveling with our 72-year-old mother, and had we known this in advance, we likely wouldn’t have booked the trip. Getting from the dinghy onto the catamaran was challenging for her—but I have to say, the crew handled it beautifully. They were patient, kind, and incredibly supportive, making sure she got on board safely and comfortably. Once underway, the scenery reminded us why Costa Rica is so special. The views were stunning, but the sunset truly stole the show. As the sun dipped toward the horizon, the sky exploded into layers of fiery orange, soft pink, and deep purple, reflecting perfectly off the water. It was one of those moments where conversations stop, cameras come out, and everyone simply takes it all in—absolutely spectacular and unforgettable. The boat offers kayaks and a stand-up paddleboard, but due to rough water conditions, those activities—and snorkeling—weren’t possible during our trip. The strong current made swimming a bit challenging as well, but the pool noodles provided on board were a lifesaver and allowed us to still enjoy the water. A late lunch was served and the food was quite good, but without question, the true highlight of the day was the staff. They were attentive, warm, and genuinely engaged with the guests. Gustavo, in particular, went above and beyond—he even convinced my mom to get up and dance with him. That moment made her feel incredibly special, and seeing her smile like that made the entire trip worth it for me. If I had to offer one real critique, it would be the length of the excursion. At just four hours, it felt far too short—especially compared to the full-day experience we had in Puerto Rico, which felt perfectly paced. With just a little more time on the water, this trip could have been truly exceptional.

Average cruise, watered down drinks, unprofessional crew. - We’ve done sails like this before and this one was so-so. I could tell the crew had tourist fatigue. Had to WhatsApp them to get specific meeting location. The drinks were good but definitely watered down. The food was okay. What bothered me the most was the lack of professionalism. There were 2 young attractive passengers that my family made friends with. The crew kept coming over to flirt with them. The crew was attentive and kept their drinks flowing while ignoring the rest of the passengers. Heck the crew even helped them off the dingy upon arrival to the beach at the end of the trip. Kissed them on the cheeks but didn’t even offer my wife a hand off the dingy. Keep in mind we tipped them very well for our family of 5. One of the crew even made an ugly remark at the end of the cruise as my wife was coming out of the restroom, “La última siempre es una torta”. Guess bro assumed I didn’t speak Spanish. Overall average cruise with watered down drinks and horny crew members that focus all hospitality on young pretty women.
