A MUST do! - From booking, to pick up and experiencing the magic, this is hands down one of the best travel experiences I have ever had. I booked last minute and was able to chat via text day of to make sure everything was set up. Then Holly picked me up (and the small group booked at the same time) and took us to the site. The drive was filled with trivia and history. Once we arrived we got to meet over 150 dogs, including champions from various Iditarod races, puppies, retired champs… and even some Reindeer! Chole helped me run my team and was such a peach to work with. She made me feel comfortable and confident to drive the sled and took some great pics of me with the dogs. Between her and Holly I left knowing 150% more about dogs, mushing, and the Iditarod AND full of love from cuddling all the dogs. I truly cannot recommend this experience enough. I will be back and brining my friends on our next visit to AK!

A Great Alaska Experience!! - One of the best tours ever! We visited the area where the new pups and current mushing dogs live. So interesting to hear about their training and mushing as a sport. We then went on a mushing ride where you could opt to ride and/or drive. So beautiful and we loved the dogs. Highly recommend this outfitter!! Cheyenne and Winter were great !! They both went above and beyond to help with a special needs accommodation !!

A must do for any sled dogs fan! - 6 time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey runs a superb kennel and sled-dog touring operation! I highly recommend this experience to anyone who loves sled dogs. Abby & Jessica were terrific tour guides who not only took us out mushing but really did a deep dive into the facts, history and daily of life training sled dogs for the Iditarod! I can’t wait to head back to Alaska just to drop in and see how the new puppies are doing! I highly recommend this tour!!! The scenic views are endless and the dogs couldn’t be happier!! ❤️

Go mushing - Great team and super dogs. Everybody is very friendly and very helpful. As for the dog they are looking for cuddles but once on the trail it s just run and having good time.

Put in on your list of things to do. - Great experience. We loved learning about the dogs and the history behind the team. Playing with the puppies after was great- I just wish we were in a larger pen as mentioned on the website vs. the small cage with 8 people.

Unforgettable Dog Sledding Adventure – A Must-Do in Alaska! - Unforgettable Dog Sledding Adventure – A Must-Do in Alaska! I booked a last-minute tour with AK Sled Dog Tours in Talkeetna, and it turned out to be one of the absolute highlights of my 10-day Alaska vacation. I am so glad I went! The facility is huge, and while there are a lot of dogs, every single one looks happy, healthy, and well cared for. The guides are true dog lovers who are passionate about their work and eager to share their knowledge. The tour began with a warm welcome inside a cozy guest house, where we learned about Dallas Seavey and the incredible world of sled dog racing. We then had the opportunity to visit the younger dogs and puppies before heading to the sledding area. The actual sled ride was nothing short of magical. With two people per sled, we were given our own team of eager, energetic dogs, and then we were off—gliding through forested trails and open fields. It felt like stepping back in time to an old Alaskan adventure, where the only sounds were the wind, the soft padding of paws on snow, and the excited barks of the sled dogs. No noisy snowmobiles—just pure, exhilarating mushing. Dallas Seavey's love for his sport and his animals is evident in every detail of this experience. It's no surprise he’s won the Iditarod so many times! Our brief time at AK Sled Dog Tours left us with a newfound appreciation for this incredible sport, and we were even lucky enough to attend the 2025 Iditarod Ceremonial Start afterward. To top it all off, I actually lost an important earring that day and called after hours to see if it had been found. Amazingly, Dacia messaged me the very next morning to let me know it had been discovered! She had it ready to return to me that same day—what incredible kindness and customer service. Thank you, Dacia! Thank you, AK Sled Dog Tours, for an unforgettable experience! You’ve gained a new fan base—we’ll be cheering from afar and reliving these memories for years to come. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend!
