• Awa Odori - The Awa Dance Festival, known as Awa Odori, is the largest dance festival in Japan, celebrated during the Obon festival in Tokushima Prefecture. Dancers and musicians, known as ren, parade through the streets in traditional obon dance attire, accompanied by traditional instruments. “Awa” refers to the historical name of Tokushima Prefecture, and “odori” means “dance.” The festival’s iconic chant is: “Odoru aho ni miru aho, onaji aho nara odoranya sonson♪” (A fool watches a fool dancing, if they’re both fools, let’s dance♪).

• Awaodori Kaikan - The renowned Awa Dance can be enjoyed year-round at this dance hall. The first floor features an information desk and a shop area for local products and tourist information. The second floor houses the Awa Dance library and an exhibition hall, while the third floor contains a museum.

Dancers and musicians, known as ren, parade through the streets with traditional instruments, dressed in obon dance costumes and chanting. “Awa” refers to the historical name of Tokushima Prefecture, and “odori” means “dance”.

“Odoru aho ni miru aho, onaji aho nara odoranya sonson” (A fool watches a fool dancing, if they’re both fools, let’s dance) is the song sung by the dancers during the festival.

• Awa Odori may be canceled due to weather conditions. If cancellation is confirmed before departure, the tour will be canceled and a full refund will be given.
