- Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center - The Asakusa Culture Tourist Information Center is not only a great resource for sightseeing tips but also one of Asakusa’s latest attractions. Opened in April 2012, it is located in a stunning modern building made of timber and glass, designed by Kengo Kuma. The Center offers an information counter, exhibition space, café, and observation deck, all free to access. Additionally, it provides complimentary English-guided walking tours of Asakusa every weekend.
- Edo Taito Traditional Crafts Center (Edo Shitamachi Traditional Crafts Museum) - Situated in the historic Asakusa neighborhood, the Edo Taito Traditional Crafts Center showcases around 250 items across 50 traditional craft styles. The first and second floors feature exhibitions displaying the diverse collection. Visitors can access information about the exhibits in Japanese, English, Chinese (simplified and traditional), and Korean through various displays and touch-panel screens.
- Senso-ji Temple - Sensoji (浅草寺, Sensōji, also known as Asakusa Kannon Temple) is a Buddhist temple in Asakusa, renowned for being one of Tokyo’s most vibrant and popular temples.
- Asakusa Shrine - A Shinto shrine located adjacent to Senso-ji.
- Kappabashi Street (Kappabashi Dogugai) - Kappabashi Street is a shopping avenue between Ueno and Asakusa, featuring numerous stores that supply everything a restaurant operator might need, except fresh food.
Specialty shops offer dishes, pots, pans, cooking utensils, stoves, tables, chairs, signs, lanterns, and more. Some stores also sell plastic and wax food samples, commonly used by restaurants in their display windows.
- Denboin Street - Denboin Street (also known as Denboin-dori) is a charming, traditional shopping street extending about 200 meters from the west side of Nakamise Street. It is well-preserved, with many shops housed in buildings over a century old. This is an excellent spot to find unique souvenirs while soaking in the old Edo atmosphere. Many shops have been family-run for generations, offering handcrafted goods, foods, and accessories exclusive to Asakusa.

One of the deities worshipped here, Ichikishima Hime no Mikoto, is revered as the god of art and good relationships, making the shrine significant for those involved in traditional Japanese dance, performances, and those seeking meaningful connections. The main character, Juzaburo Tsutaya, from a popular Japanese drama, is a historical figure who nurtured the culture in this area.
- Miyakodori: Tokyo Geisha Entertainment and Restaurant - Concluding the tour, visitors arrive at Miyakodori, a traditional Japanese ryotei (restaurant) in Asakusa. Here, guests can enjoy an elegant geisha dance performance, a lively traditional geisha game, and matcha with Japanese sweets, offering a memorable cultural experience. After sightseeing, the guide will accompany participants to “Miyakodori” for a unique opportunity to experience authentic geisha culture. Enjoy a 75-minute intimate program featuring an elegant dance performance with live shamisen music, a fun “ozashiki-asobi game”, and a commemorative photo session with the geisha. Matcha and Japanese sweets are served during the experience.
