• Sushiya Street - Asakusa Sushiya-dori, meaning sushi bar street, is filled with businesses stretching between Kaminarimon-dori street and Rokku Broadway District in Asakusa. Nearly 70% are dining establishments, with numerous sushi restaurants, giving rise to the name Asakusa Sushiya-dori.
  Unlike the souvenirs and novelties found along Nakamise-dori, Asakusa Sushiya-dori provides a distinct vibe and atmosphere for visitors to enjoy.
• Asakusa Kaminarimondori Shopping Street - This street is located on temple grounds, beginning and ending with a temple gate: the southern end features the outer gate of Kaminarimon, while the northern end has the inner gate of Hozomon. Between these gates are 89 shops, with 54 on the east side and 35 on the west. “Nakamise” is a traditional name for shopping streets on temple or shrine grounds, making this one of the oldest and most renowned in Japan.
• Senso-ji Temple - Tokyo’s most frequented temple houses a golden statue of Kannon (the Buddhist goddess of mercy), which, according to legend, was miraculously retrieved from the nearby Sumida-gawa by two fishermen in AD 628. The statue has remained there ever since but is never publicly displayed. The current structure dates back to 1958.

In exchange, the shopkeepers were expected to maintain cleanliness and order in the temple precincts. Even then, Sensoji Temple was a popular pilgrimage site, allowing Nakamise shopkeepers to thrive by providing food and drink to weary pilgrims. Over time, the street’s appearance has evolved significantly.
